New Shift Points? HELP?

Post by 2k6_srt8 »

Ok so the website says that the predator will change my shift points on my 06 SRT8 chrysler to 6400 rpms across all bands, but I cant seem to get this to happen. I raised the shift points, increased the rev limiters and reset the TCM (or what ever it was called) adaptaions. What am I doing wrong if anything???

Just asking, but how do you know it's not shifting at 6400? I only ask, because if you're simply watching the tach in the dash, it's not a tell-tale sign of shift rpm, as the engine revs too fast in first, and sometimes second gear for that tach to keep up. If you haven't already done so, go into your EVIC special features and set the digital display to show RPMs and see what that says when your car shifts. I had to do this, because when I looked at the standard tach in the dash, it didn't look like my car was shifting any higher, either. The digital display said otherwise; 6400rpm shifts. If you've already done this, or know for certian some other way that the car's not shifting at 6400, you can try reloading the tune again, which has worked for some, or disconnecting/reconnecting the battery (I believe) has worked for some others. Above that, I have no answers/advice. I hope this helps...

Yeah, the stock tachs are lazy in these cars...

Maybe because I am a computer techie but have you ever noticed the Analog tach in the LX cars actually rise in a "jerky" fashion. They are not smooth or fluid at all. Reminds me of watching a "stop motion" animation like "Mr. Bill"... LMAO!

Can't say I've noticed that, but now knowing, I'll look for it next time.

Your SRT may be a little more fluid than my 5.7 but I can certainly pick it out, especially over 4,000 RPM's.

I dunno what it is, maybe its a lazy meter but it shows it shifting at 4000rpms, Ive tried resetting the TCMs first then going in and adjusting the shiftpoints then installing the tune but nothing changes. Any tips?

Holy crap!! only 4000!!?? Im thinking a bad CCN or tach in the CCN. Put the stock tune back in it and see what happens. I just put the 93cai tune in my 07 SRT8 and used the raised shift points. It all worked good for me. Hell, even the autostick delete that isnt supposed to work on the 07-08's works on my 07. :)

Mine shifted extremely high today. I keep the digital tach up on the EVIC, and for whatever reason, getting on the highway today, it kicked down, revved to 6750rpms, held there for several seconds and then upshifted when I lifted. For some reason it just wasn't gonna shift as long as the pedal was down.

Ill have to try and put the stock tune back then do the whole 91 oct performance tune along with resetting the TCM and raising the rev limiter and shift points and see what happenes. I mean dont get me wrong the car is one fast S.O.B but thats the only thing that i wanna change.

My tach reads shifts at about 6500 with the raised shift points, so if yours is reading 4K something is wrong. When they say the tack is lazy, it's not that lazy!!
