6.2 Raptor gains?

Post by toddnel »

Hello Everyone,

I finally ordered my Diablo I2 for my 2012 Raptor with the 6.2 beast engine. Does anyone have a Raptor that they have used the Daiblo tuner on and if so can you share any advice on what tunes are the best for this?

Thanks Guys,

I have the same & recently upgraded from the I1000 to the I2.
The gains are very noticeable, but now I am getting a trouble code because I have my cats removed.
It wasn't a problem with the I1000

the tunes are the same, odd that you didnt get codes previously, but you'll need a custom tune from one of our tuning dealers like 5 start tuning or texas performance center.

Thanks

Could it be the I1000 was a non-carb compliant model?
I have a SCT tuner that does not throw that code either

the i1000 was not carb compliant, but that wont matter, maybe the sct tune has the codes disabled? We dont do that as the epa does not like that...

Will this I2 tuner work on a 2017 ecoboost motor? I am thinking of upgrading my truck

I Received my i-2 2020 in the mail today. After upgrading it on the PC and registering, went to the truck. only took maybe 8min to copy stock tune and install the 93 octane tune. I turned off the speed limit and chose the gear change option but didn't change the 4:10 gear ratio that came up. (I'm not that smart to know what gear number to change it to) ;P

Took the Raptor for a test drive and immediately noticed an improved throttle response, she still shifts from 1st a little early for me but under some rpm 4-5k she shifts smoother I think. I haven't done highway driving yet but will this Friday on a trip from NY to Conn. I'll post the MPG and noticeably differences. I also shut off the traction control and did an AWESOME smoke show for my son :D told him it was the tuner !!! This 6.2 BOSS engine really smokes these 35in tires really well!!!

I do have one Q if I take it to the dealer for any work do I need to revert back to the factory tune?

Yes, always go back to stock if going to the dealer for any reason :)

Enjoy!

Mike,

Have you herd any issues of the Raptor doing a VERY HARD shift from 2nd gear to 3rd gear under high RPM's? When the 93 Octane tune is installed and I "punch it' she downshifts to 2nd gear then around 5000 RPM she shifts in third but the truck SLAMS into gear and its a LOUD CLUNK and the truck jerks forward like the transmission is gona drop.

When I reverted the tune back to the stock tune and did the same thing she just shifted normally? Just wondering if there is something I did wrong or this is something I can adjust?

When I installed the 93 Octane tune I didn't change any gear ratios or tire size just the easy tune.

that snot anything I have seen reported or heard o trucks we tested. If you cn get a log of it that may help, let me know if it happens again and post the tune files if so and we'll check it out.

Ok Mike Thanks.

I am gona push her after work on the Stock tune and see if I can make her do it again. if she does then I know its something the dealer and warranty will have to fix.

If she doesn't do it I'll reinstall the 93 Octane tune and see if I can get a log for you guys. Is there directions on how to get the "log" for you guys to review? I am new to this.
