OK I have just ran the update 5 times in a row...
I click on the update file in the Windows folder and I never even get a chance to click "CHeck for updates", it just starts...
A progress bar goes across the bottom and each time it copies a group_update.itg file to the device.
Then it gives a popup saying that "updates have been moved to your device" and I need to be in the startup screen.
Then it goes through and updates on the device itself... group_update_0, group_update_1,2,3... etc...
But if I run the update program again, the exact same thing happens again... over and over...
Sometimes it leaves the group_update.itg file on the root, other times it is gone after the reboot...
I can do the same thing on the device itself...
Click on Settings - Advanced - Check for updates and I get "Updates are available, would you like to download and install them now?"...
Then it again does the "group_update.itfg" followed by the group_update_0, group_update_1,2,3... etc...
Is this thing updating the same files over and over?
Should it ever say it is up to date?
When I plug it into my Charger it seems to be working well, and my car is running great, but I wonder if my device is getting the latest updates from diablosport when I run this program?
thanks,
Pete

save this to the i2 drive, let the tool import it then run the updater again and it will be done.TNPete wrote:OK I have just ran the update 5 times in a row...

Re: Will it ever say it's up to date?
And again I'm saying Thanks to Mike!
I will install this in my inTune as soon as I get home!
Man, now I'm really glad I asked about this. Like I said it seemed to be operating fine when I hooked it up to my Charger, AND I can definitely notice a difference between the Diablosport tune and running stock. So I didn't think there was an issue...
But with the way the update was acting, I was wondering if I was getting the latest updates or not...And I've heard that one of the best things about going with Diablosport is that they are constantly updating and improving their product... And I sure don't want to miss out on that
Thanks again,
Pete

Re: Will it ever say it's up to date?
Mike,
Not sure if it's updating correctly now or not... looks like not...
I copied the file you gave me to the root of the device and it did the update (or whatever it was supposed to do) and then a new screen said it was updated and asked me to press "Continue" to reboot; so I did.
I then ran the Windows updater, and same as before it auto copied files to the device and did an update.
But this time, at the end, it told me my device had been updated and asked me to press continue to reboot (it has NOT done that before, it always just rebooted itself...)
So I pressed "Continue" and it rebooted itself...
Now, after all that I ran the windows updater AGAIN (to see if it would finally say it was up to date), and it ran the update sequence AGAIN, same as before (except again it asked me to press continue to reboot at the end).
I have gone through this updating sequence two more times, and, same thing as before, it copies files to the device, runs the update, asks me to press Continue to reboot...
So, having the device say "Updates have been installed, please press continue to reboot your i2" is new behavior, but aside from that, it still will ALWAYS copies files to the device and installs software every time I run the updater; and never says it's up to date...
in info.xml the <system rev='1r01b' > is unchanged, but the <system config= 'xxxxx' > has changed from '1r01c' to '1r01d', don't know exactly what that means, but that is the first time anything has changed in there... All the other parameters are the same as when I first got the device... (except for the long <reg reg xxxxxxxx/> string)
Is there something wrong with my little i2?
Thanks,
Pete

Re: Will it ever say it's up to date?
Mike,
No, no file matching "group_update*" on the drive, and I have Windows displaying hidden files being shown as well...
When I first got this I tried to run the update on my Mac, I don't remember exactly what the problem was, but it wasn't working...
As it seemed to update on my PC, I never went back to the Mac...
But I can tell from the file structure that it is linux, so I would expect Mac to work better, should I try the Mac again?
thanks,
Pete

everything is current on the device, Id not worry about the updates and just use the tool as needed in the vehicle

Re: Will it ever say it's up to date?
Mike,
OK thanks, like I said when I plug it into the car, it works like a champ, so I'll leave well enough alone.
Although I haven't actually used it on the car since installing the 1r01d update you gave me, so I will re-install the diablo tune when I get home... Just in case there were some tweaks done to it with the update. Not that I have ANY complaints with the currently installed diablo tune
Again thanks, you guys are GREAT; specifically YOU Mike, thanks for being here in this forum and helping us out.
It's really sad that these days simply having responsive customer support makes a company stand out, but I'm afraid that's the world we live in...
And DiabloSport stands out in my book; for having employees like Mike check this forum if nothing else.
Thanks,
Pete
