Failed to read original pcm backup code

The tuner was stuck in recovery mode. Called and had it unlocked and tried to load factory time back to the car and had this code pop up. car is currently running lean on the tune it has on it so really need this problem resolved.

considering it was in recovery when you bought it, it sounds like it was having problems which is likely why someone sold it to you....that error can be an internal issue or a bad cable, tough to say for sure without having the device here to test it.

It wasn't in recovery mode when I bought it. It worked ok when I bought it. About 2 months later is when the problems started.

I finally talked to a tech at diablosport today... Apparently since I had the tuner reset now I have to have my pcm reflashed in order to use my tuner. I was not informed of this when I had it reset and now I have to pay to for the reflash! I don't understand why I can't just have the tuner unmarried and then marry it back to the car but i guess since diablo can't make money off the unlock that's not an option? Needless to say after this I will never use another diablosport product.

06 mustang gt. He said since he reset the tuner and the car still has an aftermarket tune on it I will have to have the car reflashed. I think he's thinking the tuner was unlocked but that's not the case. It was reset so it was no longer in recovery mode. But if I go to restore car it says it can't find backup for my cars vin
