E85 daily driver 2015 Sierra

Post by lschafroth »

I just got my I2030 and I want to tune my 2015 Sierra All Terrain.
It has the 5.3L 6 Speed Transmission.

I run E85 every day due to the way it drives. Much more power and great shifting. The drive with regular fuel is awful.
Plus, E85 near me is $1.38 right now vs $1.90 for 89.

What tune should I use for E85 daily driving? I do take long trips back to the midwest where E85 is not available on the Interstate so I would need a tune that works with E85 & 89/91/93 etc.

I have no idea what options to tune for my vehicle. It is 4x4 crew cab. 1.5" level kit with 20" factory rims. New ATX tires but same factory specs.

Any help would be appreciated. Finished updating the I2030 from my PC.

install tunes from Tune Vehicle - Advanced Mode menu.. and should be a tune on there called "87 Flex" - that tune is for 87/89/E85...

Is there one for 90/91/93/E85? Or would I benefit from the 87 one the most? My vehicle is still in the auto body shop right now so once its done, I will give it a try.
$18,500 in damages stakes a while to get it back. lol Someone behind the guy behind me forgot to use his brakes at 60mph. :(

Should I change anything else? Throttle response? MPH limiter? Shifting?

You didnt really answer any of my questions. :) Is there a difference in gains with the 87/E85 vs the 91/93/E85? If one has more results than I will use that and the correct gas accordingly.

What about top speed limiter, AFM, Throttle response, shifting? Do I need to adjust any of those from the stock tune to enhance the drive or can you make changes to the stock tune? I assume if you do the advanced, you have to do all of it manually?

Can you assign 1 tune to the regular drive and a 2nd to the two button?

You've already answered that but none of the questions. I'll just experiment and see. I was hoping to not have to spend time experimenting but it will help me learn the programmer.

there is no need to adjust any of the parameters. Advanced just gives you access to the params, but you dont have to adjust anything unless you want to.
You can only load one tune to the pcm at a time.

Thanks

My tuner doesn't show a Diablo flex tune.Just 87 tune and Diablo tune. I tried the Diablo and i don't feel much gains over the stock E85 tune. It idles very rough.

The fuel in the tank was two months old waiting on the repairs.the next tank is better at idle. How do I get the stock E85 shifts in this tune? The stock shifting was snappy and smooth.the tune shifting stumbles at take off.

The new tank of fuel is much better. Less rough idle. I sped of the idle by 100rpms and that helped a lot.
I changed to Hard shift and that seems to match the Stock E85 shifting.

I could not find how to remove the top speed limiter. What menu is that under?
