2014 Jeep GC 5.7

Post by jkeithv »

Like others I've read, I did the update, which took a few tries, but when attempting to download tune to vehicle it keeps freezing at Reading Backup, getting anywhere between 4 and 18%, then stops. I just called and did a Registry Reset, then tried again and it froze at 3%.

I'm driving a lot during the day and don't have time to sit on the phone for a half hour or more during regular business hours to work on this. I previously had an Intune for my 2011 Vette and it worked great. This version seems to have a lot of problems based on all the similar forum topics.
So now what?

Thanks for any help

please download the file here and save it to the i2 drive and then try tuning again after this is loaded.

Still not working.
At first it did the same thing, freezing while reading the backup at 22%.

So I went in the house, set up the wifi, installed updates, reinstalled the file you just gave me and tried again. This time it started having me do some different steps, like turning the ignition on and off a couple times, so I was hopeful it was working. But then it said PCM log exported, then went to a screen that said Read Failed. When I continued it just took me back to main screen. I went through this process twice.

This is getting frustrating for a device that's marketed as simple plug and play. And not like this is a brand new model vehicle or engine. Like another poster here with 2014 SRT Jeep that's having the same problem, my I2 was also made in Dec 2016. Any correlation?

OK, it's been 5 days and no response, no help. Getting close to returning unit for refund. This is ridiculous.

sorry, that file should have fixed this.
Can you post the current info.xml file from the i2 drive as well as anything in the runtime folder so we can sort this out?

I hooked it back up to my computer, re-updated everything through Ignition. It all looked good, though it still always freezes when trying to reboot.

I then connected to Jeep, it updated 5 groups, updated the Jeep, updated(?) DCX_TUNES_2t01jb.ITF. It rebooted at some point just fine. Everything seemed good so far.

Then asked if I wanted to tune, I picked 91 octane and it said it will now read a backup from vehicle. It then stated "This vehicle requires additional programming before a tune can be applied." I believe it did that, then started the READING BACKUP. This is where it always freezes, and it did again at 1%. I waited 15 min just to make sure it wasn't just a very slow process, but by that time figured it had just frozen, so I unplugged it.

Do I need to email the runtime folder or something? I assume this doesn't open anything in this post.
I attached the first and last, maybe that's what you need? Sorry, I'm not tech savvy, that's why I bought the DS, hoping it would be simple!

Re: 2014 Jeep GC 5.7

Thank you, that seems to have worked. I am having Hemifever Tuning make some more custom adjustments.

Also, when I down loaded the tune, it was only for the PCM, nothing for the transmission as far as shift firmness, shift points, etc. I was able to adjust that on my 2011 Corvette. Can that not be done on the GC? That was what I was really hoping to be able to adjust, like disabling the torque management.

EDIT: Never mind, just read the TCM posts. Hopefully soon, that will make a world of difference!!

Thanks
