Just bought an I2 for my 2005 5.7 magnum. I anticipated some problems, but didn't know it'd be this bad.
After initial updating and installing ignition updater, i had to delete the group_update.itfg file to stop it from continually updating/rebooting, but now its back. Now my vin is not compatible but after I disconnect to try a pcm update, all I get is the Diablo l2 r39(2files) update that I guess never finishes. The device will reboot a time or two, then get stuck on please wait. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I also had problems getting the i2 to update in either Windows or Linux. The new Ignitor updating software has left me less than impressed with it. You can update manually, and it is really easy to do. If your Ignitor software starts automatically when you plug in your i2, exit out of it before starting the below process. All you want to see is the i2 directory/drive (if you have Windows set to its defaults, it should show up as an i2 folder/drive on the desktop.)
Here is what I did to get the i2 updated and working properly. Go to the DOWNLOADS page ( https://www.diablosport.com/downloads/ ) with your browser, download all the files there for the i2 (i2000 on the page). After you have downloaded all of the files in the i2000 section, copy all of them to the root of the i2 device (where your info.xml file is located.) After a minute or so, the i2 should recognize that there are updates, and start processing them. Don't disconnect until they are all done - the files you copied to the root should all be gone when it is done. Unplug your i2 from your computer when it tells you it is done.
After that is done, plug your i2 back in, wait for it to start up, then click the "?" button at the extreme right top of the screen, check the apps and the databases - you should see files there with the current version listed. If you see that, you should be good to go. One important thing - after you have backed up your original tune (the first backup it makes), make sure you copy it and your info.xml to your computer and save it - it is really important to do that. They will be located in the root of the i2 drive. Copy it, don't move it. That is your OEM ECU file and the info.xml file is your i2 registration/license file, both are important. You will need the OEM file to restore to your car when you take it in for servicing at your Dodge dealer. The info.xml file contains the i2 serial number and your registration/license key. I copy all the files from the root, just to be safe, and my info.xml and original OEM backup are stored in the cloud (GDrive on Google) so I always have a copy.
Also, if your state requires emissions inspections, make sure you restore your OEM file early enough that you get about 100 miles or so of data for the emissions test, otherwise you will be told there isn't enough data to pass/fail the car and will have to bring it back in when you have enough miles on it (and maybe pay again for the test, depending on your dealer/garage).

Re: 2005 Magnum / Ignitor group loop
So should I just return this or what??? No replies here, no one will answer the phone or my online tech help request. If it doesn't support 05's fine, but don't advertise that you do, or have someone tell it can work but it doesn't. Please help before my $400 is wasted any longer. I know you guys are busy, but could I schedule a time to call a tech or something so I can see if it's possible to get this thing to work?
Thanks
Thanks

Big thanks to Richard for getting me straightened out. I think the ignition software was missing my vin file, and I had to delete the group update file. I'm able to put a tune in, but after first startup, it idled really rough. Pulled the 11 fuse under the hood for 30 secs, tried again and all is well.

clear codes or disconnect battery for a second to get rid of that, its the car idling on 4 cylinders, not uncommon after flashing early 05 models.derekmarion43 wrote:Big thanks to Richard for getting me straightened out.
