2011 Silverado 5.3 Shifting Issue

Post by nodakcajun »

I am having an issue with my transmission shifting when tuned with any of the canned tunes. It doesn't matter if its the modify stock (no options changed at all), firm or hard shift tunes. 1st to 2nd shift under any condition is fine, but 2nd to 3rd shift under wot is wonky. let's see if i can explain this; when traveling at lets say 40mph and i smash the gas to get on the interstate or pass, the pedal is on the floor for like a good second or two before it downshifts. Then at about 3K rpms it feels like I am in a manual vehicle and the clutch is slipping. The rpms climb quite fast and it actually feels like the truck pulls much harder but at about 5k to 6k it just holds the gear and bounces off the rev limiter a few times and i actually have to let off to get it to shift. i restored to factory tune and it doesn't do it at all. Also, the hard shift tune doesn't actually shift much harder than the firm setting, which feels like the transmission is in stupid mode. The intune is up to date. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Just wanted to bump this post cause I am experiencing the same issue.
I did ramp up the shift pressure and that seemed to help a LITTLE.
I have no idea if there is a relearning process happening with the new tune. Maybe someone could enlighten on this subject.
Until then, I'm just driving it around to see what happens.
