Tuning a Stock Ram
So I have the Intune I2 and installed the 93 Octane tune on my Challenger and definitely have seen a gain in performance. This has intrigued my father who would like to also do a tune on his 2006 1500 5.7L Ram. However his Ram is all stock except for a drop in high flow air filter. He would like to squeeze out any horsepower he could, but doesn't really want to get into doing any modding to his stock truck. Would there really be any benefit to putting one of the canned tunes on his Ram in the case andmif so what possible gain might he see being stock? Am I correct that for the Ram there would be canned tunes for 87, 91, and 93 octanes.

Yes, the Ram will wake up quite nicely
It will offer 87/91 and 93 tunes.
Thanks

Re: Tuning a Stock Ram
About how much horsepower gain oils one expect to see for each of the 3 Octane ratings on the canned tunes for a stock Ram with just the drop in high flow filter? I know there is no exact figure without a synonym but just looking for a ball park idea.mikel wrote:Yes, the Ram will wake up quite nicely

Mike, What do the tunes change in the engines. In the old days we changed timing, jetting, etc. I am just trying to get a handle and understand where the hp might come from
Thanksfor your time

same deal, timing, fueling, as well as things like throttle control and torque management are adjusted in the tune to optimize performance.

Re: Tuning a Stock Ram
Mike, Today I checked for updates for my I2 and was told that there were updates. I downloaded the update and checked again. I was told there was another update--I did the same thing again. I did this 4 times. Are there that many updates?? Does it keep downloading the same one over again?
