CMR for End Users

Post by neonhomer »

I have an idea... a version of CMR for end users. It would be locked to a certain Predator ID (only allowing it to be used with a specific Predator), and allow the end user to create his own custom tune files for upload to the Predator.

I feel this would make the tuning of vehicles easier for the end user, as they could get a copy of their tune, and then sit at their computer to edit it, instead of the slow interface of the Predator (it takes forever to scroll down to the end of the list).

Of course I wouldn't expect DiabloSport to give this away (that would be nice), but it could a lot cheaper than the full blown version of CMR.

(CMR is for creating custom tunes, right?)

We have been planning a single user CMR for a while now.
Once we have a solid method of locking it to the tool, we will release it
Pricing will be more than competitive with the other options out there now.

How about releasing a copy to a certain few individuals who are willing to come to Boca or Delray to swear on the Bible that they will not use it on other programmers?? LOL>....

Could there be a way to lock it so it will only open backup files that have the proper serial # in them?

Either that or have the Predator behave like a dongle.. it is the program's access key, and the program be locked to a certain Tool ID.

That will be the general idea....but it has to be secure on our end first.

any update on this? I seriously want to tune my car myself and don't want to spend the $800 for the SCT or Sniper software. I already have a Predator and would like to continue to use it.

there is so much other stuff that is going on right now that is a priority, that this will not happen for a long while....

I've offered to do it with no cost several times but they won't let me. I've given up hope on this ever being released.
The apostrophe does not mean "Look out, here comes an S"!

"I couldn't care less" means it is impossible to care less - "I could care less" just makes you look stupid.

It wont happen until CMR 2 as it will be designed for the individual licensing system, which the current CMR registration system is not.
