what the f**K happened

Post by eastsidep »

So yesterday i downloaded the 9r03 today i put it in my 2006 SRT8 when i selected the trans option it gave me the choice of axle ratio when i tried to put in the 4.10 the trans was fucked it short shifted out of 1 onto 2nd then 3 i tried to put it in autostick it wouldnt let me.I shut the car off then tried it again with the same result. I hooked up the predator to re install the tune with 3.73 same result then again with the 3.07 and it worked fine so any suggestions?

It didnt work because you dont have the 4.10's or 3.73's. Just my .02 cents. :)

ok, good suggestion but why release it and have no warning or instruction that u must first change the gears or am i just a redundtant clown? Hold on a sec dont answer that on it might make me mad.

If you have not changed the rear axle ratio, there is no need to use that part of the Predator.
It's there for those people who have swapped a SRT8 rear gear set into their 5.7, or for when the time comes that the gear companies start to make different gears for your car.
No need to change it unless you have got new rear gears.

This could still be interesting (you may be the first to do this :)). What do you mean "short shifted"? Do you mean the speedometer only? It shouldn't have effected the tach and the transmission should be shifting off the engine rpm. I would expect that telling HAL you have a 4.10 rear would have made the speedo read a lot slower than you were actually going but the tach shift point shouldn't have changed, right?

and, I've never looked but is the option actually 3.07? Not that it would make much difference but we have a 3.06 rear end.

Cool thanks mike, As to what happened i put in the 4.10, it is in drive started out in first quickly shifted by itself to second then third.I stopped tried to put it in first via auto stick and it wouldnt engage it,when i went to pull away it wouldnt shift down to first just started out in second.i then shut the car off restarted it and the auto stick worked for a second to put it in first then when i pulled away it again bumped me in to second and third then disabled he use of the auto stick.same result when i put it in 3.73.then set it to 3.07 seems fine.good question on the 3.06 ,3.07 thing it seems to make no difference but will reset it to stock later.so now i know not to do that

Well that's interesting then. I wouldn't have expected it to effect anything other than the speedometer. It seems that maybe some constant is being adjusted earlier in the flow of information and is being used in other calculations. Those calculations maybe involving the tone rings, etc,, and definitely effecting the transmission and maybe other things.

Thanks for experimenting :)

The computer references mph as well as rpm on shifts. If you run a deeper (higher numerically) gearset you will be required to shift at lower mph for each gear in order to match the rpm part throttle shifting of the stock gearset. (otherwise your stock part throttle shift point at 2500rpm for example would suddenly be 2900rpm with 3.55s. Also if mph is referenced at WOT as well as rpm you'll hit the rev limiter before you hit the target mph. That's why everything is adjusted downwards.
