I2 vs I3 or Trinity

Post by Cadmanbruce »

I currently have a Diablo Trinity for my 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT8 with the 6.4 liter engine. I tried the 93 octane tune and it seems to run a little better or at least get a little better mileage. I actually just made a 1600 mile road trip and averaged just over 25 mpg with the SRT which I think is pretty good for a car this size.

My question is would the I3 since it is newer programming provide better horsepower or mileage than the Trinity?

The Trinity also seems to have limited options for tuning on my Chrysler. You either go into 93 octane tune or modified stock tune to change parameters like speed limiter, shift points, fuel flow, timing adjustments or idle or maximum rpm in neutral. The "boxed" 93 octane tune doesn't give you options to change any other parameters.

Does the I3 give you any more options in the 93 octane tune or is it locked out like the Trinity?

Thanks!

both have the same tunes and parameters.
You can adjust anything in the 93 tune.
Pick the tune then choose modify parameters and you can adjust everything.

Mike,

Do I have to modify the parameters before I install the 93 octane tune? I installed the 93 octane tune, then went to modify parameters, made changes and hit install tune. The car would start and then immediately shut off. Tried this several times and the car did the same thing. Started and then immediately shut off. Thought it was idling too low and gave it a little gas but with the same results. Just running on the 93 octane tune now and gave up on the modify parameters until my patience comes back.

Thanks!

rpm in neutral is likely the issue causing the no start/stalling issue as it may be setting the limiter too low.
If you avoid that one it should work out properly.
