how to clear all previous updates to I2.

Post by vig »

Mike (or anyone else), I know you've tried to get me help for my i2 not seeing my TCM on my '17 tahoe, but nothing is working. My info file says gm tune is 2r03f, when there is a 2r03g avail. Your tech guys say even though it says f, it's fully up to date. It's NOT! Every time I try to update through ignition, it loads the group file and reboots, but nothing else happens. The file just sits in the folder. I got it to update through wifi once and it said 2r03g, but then it went back to 2r03f a minute later with no explanation of how that happened. I bought a second license, but it is basically useless. I am going to buy an I3, but still want to either sell this I2 or keep it as a second device.

Can you tell me how to clear all previous updates, or set it to factory defaults so i can try to upload the latest files from scratch???? I don't know what else to try.... Thank you.

no good Mike. I put the file in the drive and it just sits there. It says "hit continue to reboot" but upon reboot, the file sits in the drive without installing. I think i need to send this back to you guys to look at it in person....

ok Mike, after your last question I used windows on my mac through parallels software. As soon as I plugged the device in under windows, it loaded the file you sent me. After that installed it said I had more updates, so I installed them through ignition under windows. It said I had updates 1 more time so I updated again. Now ignition is saying I have no more updates. Here is the new info file after all updates. Let me know if I am fully up do date please, cause I still see GM tunes 2r03f instead of what I think should be G, and the vehicle file 2r01z instead of 2t02af. Let me know what you see/think. In the meantime, I will take this to the Tahoe and see if it sees the TCM now. Thanks again for all your help.

windows for the win :)

On the mac you often have to manually eject the drive to get it to import the files.

Reload the af file, as ignition replaced it.
Everything else is good.

Well, it still doesn’t see my ‘17 Tahoe TCM.... what the heck is with this truck? Is it special?? lol. Let me know what to do next mike.

2 more questions:

Do you think the I3 platinum will have this Tahoe in the database already?

Can my extra license be taken off this I2 and put on a new I3, since i couldn’t even use it? Is that even possible? I’m willing to buy an I3, but don’t want to just throw away money... thanks mike.

i2 and i3 are internally the same and use the same tune database, so support is identical.

post the new info file so I can have them look into this please.
