I had a 2016 Sierra and just upgraded to a 2018 Sierra.
I don't see my I2 listed as a supported device, can I still pay for a license and use my I2 for my new vehicle?
Thank you

Re: 2018 Sierra 6.2 & Intune I2
I purchased a new license and updated my Intune I2 but when I try to update it says
One or more ECU's in this vehicle requires an update prior to tuning. Please connect this i2 to Ignition and download available updates.
I plugged it back into the computer and it asked to update, then I tried again. I repeated this process 3 times and still the same message.
Please help! - Adam

Yep, normal.. 2017/2018/2019 vehicles require a special unlock sequence... so what will happen is, when you go to install a tune the first time, the tool will give you a message that "one or more controllers can not be tuned - Contacting powertech for vehicle unlock... you will be notified within 1-2 days" - or something similar to that effect.. so then in 1-2 days (usually within an hour though) you should receive an email (if you registered your tool on diablo's site) that your update is ready.. so then you'd run the Ignition Updater on the tool again, and it will update the tool with the unlock code for your ECM, and then you'd be able to tune the vehicle.
And with that 6.2, you want to select/install the "Diablo Tune" (that's the 91/93 octane tune) from the Tune Vehicle - Advanced Mode menu.... because you need to run at least 91 octane gas or higher in that 6.2 engine...
And as just an FYI- the 8-speed transmission/TCM in that truck can not be tuned at all.... only the engine/ECM can be tuned...

Re: 2018 Sierra 6.2 & Intune I2
I just registered the serial number on diablosport.com.
I am not sure I have ever done that before, I don't have an email is there a way to resend the information.
Thank you

Re: 2018 Sierra 6.2 & Intune I2
Are you having any issues out of the transmission? I have the same setup in a Chevy Silverado Redline with the 6.2 and the 8 speed transmission. It has a shutter at 50 MPH and some hard shifts from 1st and 2nd. I was hoping to upgrade the transmission tune, but from one of the replies apparently it isn’t available. I’ve already plugged the 93 Octane tune in there and things are a lot better except for the tranny. I don’t want the dealership swapping parts and not accomplishing anything in the process.
Re: 2018 Sierra 6.2 & Intune I2
The shudder, slipping, etc are all issues those 8 speeds have. Take it to your dealer and tell them... there are GM programming updates for it... there are technical service bulletins out about a bunch of issues with thise 8 speeds.
