TCM reset key cycle procedure U7135

Post by wellsy »

I am still getting used to the U7135, so far I have installed a 91 CAI tune and I am ecstatic with the results so far. Today I decided to do a TCM reset. In the manual, it is saying nothing has to be flashed, just a series of key cycling to reset, but as I was going through the steps, Quick adjust, transmission, tcm adjust, no where did it tell me to cycle the key...did I miss a procedure somewhere?

It didn't tell you to turn the key off/on? Thats cycling.

I will try again tonite, but I tried it twice last night, maybe I missed something,
but I did manage to get to the TCM reset feature, after performing the reset it didn't really say anything after that as to a successful reset or to turn the key off and unplug or again, cycle the key, I did feel that it wasn't thorough as it was with a tune, even though it is not the same procedure...I will try again.
PS: maybe just send me step by step and I will follow your procedure.

1. Open the hood
2. Pull fuse 11 (same thing as TCM reset).

Thanks fordomatic69 I just as well would like to eliminate lifting the hood, pulling the fuse, dropping the fuse and landing directly dead center under the car (murphys law) on the pavement. If the U7135 can do it, way easier....but thanks again :D

sorry.. dry sense of humour here..... actually fuse 11 pull does more than just restting TCM adaptation according to what I've heard. The Predator does a fine job as well but just resets the TCM only.

I've heard of horror stories with pulling the #11 fuse so have never done it. Instead, I think you can just re-flash the tune every now and then and it will probably do the same thing in clearly any adaptives

I pulled the fuse last night. No issues at all. Got rid of my MDS surge for now with the 91CAI tune.

kmills,
You can do a TCM reset with the Predator, that's what I am trying to do...

I understand you can do a TCM reset with the Predator....but like Fordo said, the fuse pull seems to do more then just the TCM reset. I was just saying that re-loading the stock tune, then re-flashing every so often (as often as you pull the fuse), will probably do the same as pulling #11.
