When I plug my i3 to my car's obd port, the hvac lights quickly flash and then the hvac lights quickly flash when i unplug the i3 from the obd port. Not sure if its a loose wire on my obd port or if the obd cable is causing this..
I have the 91 diablo tune installed, and Mike was kind enough to send me a custom file to disable the afm since the diablo 91 tune wasn't deactivating my afm, anyways, I am getting better mpgs than when the afm would drop the car into 4 cylinder mode!! So that's good! I only drive my car once a week to work, but drive all highway 140 miles round trip.

obd access question/i3
just a newb here who's never tune a fuel injected car before. A relic from years long passed when tuning was done with a few turns of a carb screw and few inches on the distributor and smelling the exhaust and listening to valves tap under heavy load.

Re: obd access question/i3
odd, can you plug something else into the port to see if it creates the same issue?

Re: obd access question/i3
Mike, I am almost certain it's neither the obd cable nor the i3, I believe I have a short somewhere. After posting this thread I notice at night in the garage when I open the driver's door the hvac lights flash and when I close the door and lock via my key fob the hvac lights flash multiple times before shutting off. I checked the fuses but they are okay. But I first noticed the hvac lights flashing when I plug in the tuner. I have yet to try my friend's snap on scan tool but that's what I will try next, he is a gm tech who does side work so he is going to help me trouble shoot. thanks for your reply, I'll keep you posted what we found out. The tuner works as it should, it powers up and scans my car for any CEL's, and shows my tune.
