Options for my 2019 Ram

Post by perrinooo »

I just bought a 2019 Ram. I have an i2 that I have used on a Charger and an older Ram I used to own. I will eventually want to place a tune on my new truck. I have done some reading and I understand my options (at this point) are to buy a modified PCM for my truck or send my current PCM in for modification. I still have a few questions I hope you can answer.

• Regardless of the method I choose (buy modified or send mine in), will I still need a tuner to upload a new tune to the PCM? If so, can it be done by the i2 I currently own? I am hoping my i2 is still useful.

• If I send my PCM in to be modified, will it cause my truck to fail the required emissions test I have to get each year?

• What kind of gains can I expect from modifying the PCM?

Sorry if the questions seem simple. I am just trying to get a grip on my options.

Regards

Yes the i2 can be updated and work. You'll also need a bypass module.

Nope, the pcm will function 100% like stock.

• What kind of gains can I expect from modifying the PCM?

The tunes offer close to 30 rwhp over stock on premium fuel...plus better throttle response, better shifting performance, and more.
