the edge chip was removed this morning before i took the truck to ford to have the truck reflashed back to stock. i know for a fact the truck is stock, thay charged me $100 to make sure. are there any other solutions for me to try...if not do i neet to sent the tuner back to you so you can look it over?

I hate to say this, but I cannot tell you how many times someone has gone to Fprd, paid for a reflash, and all that happened is they plug in, see the truck is on the latest calibration, and walk away...they 'assume' that since it is a up to date calibration, that there is no reason to flash it, just to put the same calibration back on...and you dont want to tell them that you are attempting to load a programmer, so they figure there is no way you'll ever know if they actually flashed it.

Do you have access to another 6.0 diesel that we could try installing this tool into?

I'm pretty sure it is not the Predator, and considering the fact that this is a super rare situation, and you have admittedly had another device installed which we have had issues with in the past....well, you see where I'm going...

yes, i have had another device, the in line edge chip with the 5 way adjustable power settings. this device modifys the signal in line, it does not change any programing on the truck. once it is dissconnected it was like it was never there. as for ford the service writer at my local dealership is a personal friend of mine. we were friends before i had this truck or he even worked at ford. i told him that i needed the truck reflashed to stock so i could load up a tuner. i really do not feel that is the problem. i know other people with the 6.0 but if the unit is not working correctly i would not want to hook it up to a friends truck. please let me know if you have any thing else to try insted of giving your self an out by placing blame. if this can not be worked i will have to return the tuner, which i really do not want to do. i was realy excited to get it and want to drive the truck with the tune on ot because i have heard some really good things. any suggestions would be much appreciated...thanks

Mike, I started this discussion and I do not have any add on device or anything esle on my truck, had the ford house flash the pcm all went back to factory specs and the programmer still will not save the original tune, do I have to get another pcm or a differant programmer, do not forget about me. I have the same problem.

Yes, Friday And I'm having the same problem you are. I think it's the programmer, missing a update or something. I think SCT had the same problem on some vechiles, it was missing a update because of the new updates ford did when they flash the pcm.

It is not a update issue.
I am not trying to place blame, rather telling you what I have seen from a couple years of doing this for a living.
I had a guy yesterday tell me his best friend flashed his truck to stock, and guess what, the tool would not work.
He then went to another dealer 2 blocks away, paid for a reflash, and guess what, it worked. Obviously his buddy did not flash it....

I have no reason to push this off, but based on what I see here either you guys got the only 2 tools that I have ever seen this problem on, or the tune is not stock...

Feel free to fill out an rma request and send the tool in to be checked out, or preferably PLEASE try to install it on a different truck.
If it will not do anything, you're not going to hurt anyone else's truck, and if it does work properly, we will know its not the tool...

Thanks

i will try to install the tune on my friends truck to see what happons. i hope the ford dealership would not charge me $100 for nothing. if the tune does not upload to his truck, would you mind taking a look at it? it seems strange to me that my self and rattler just recived our tuners and we are having the exact same problem on the exact same model and year of truck. maby it could be a fluke or maby a problem does exist with a few tuners.

jiffjar, I'll go back to the ford house and try to get a reflash, they asure me that the pcm when back to factory default. Maybe it's not mean to be that we have programable tunes. It looks like we are the only two with the same problem. Let me know if it works on your buddy truck.

If it tunes another truck, you can restore the stock tune to theat truck and it will unlock the Predator.

I justgot back from the ford house with the third flash and still the same will not save tune, I do not know of another 6.0L that I can try the programmer on, so I guess I'll out of luck. unless we can find a fix to the problem.
