300c learning Predator

Post by cue244 »

Hello,

Lately I noticed my car has lost some of the power that I had when I first installed the Predator. I have had my battery disconnected. Are you suppose to re-install the Predator every once in awhile? I know our engines can learn driving habits and dummy down power.

Someone told me that there is a setting you can program with the Predator to stop this. Is this true? Thanks.

I have a feeling you are just getting used to the power, put the stock tune back in for a day or two and double check.
There is no learning that would reduce the performance and once programmed it will stay in there as is with no need to re-flash the vehicle.

I will give it a try. I also need to download the new upgrades. I bought my Predator back in Jan.

You may be thinking of the TCM Adaptive reset (under tranny settings).

that sounds right. What does it do? Is it an on/off selection?

Here is a little secret. WOT settings are not adaptive in the PCM. :) Am I right, am I right?? LOL. I think you are getting used to the power.

ummm, maybe not... doesn't it work this way? (I could be completely wrong)
In WOT (an open loop PCM mode) the PCM does ignore the short term adaptives and therefore does not update the long term adaptives. But, in WOT, one of the things the PCM does is *add* some fixed amount of fuel enrichment. (This is what you can adjust with the WOT Fuel settings in the Predator). This added amount of fuel is added to the values in the long term adaptives (the cells in the table). So while the fuel enrichment for WOT is fixed it is added on top of an adaptive value that is adjusted while in the normal closed loop modes. Resetting these adaptives could effect your WOT performance. It may be the case that these adaptives will adjust in such a short period of time that it doesn't matter but technically...
