2018 Ram 1500 backup failed

I just got the diablo sport i3 platinum tuner. As soon as I got my pcm swap done, I plugged my tuner into my Mac and updated it and when to throw a tune in. I selected the diablo tune, no tire size change, and removal of the speed limiter. When it went to backup the pcm, it reads backup failed. I’ve tried about a dozen times with the same result. I tried to update the tuner again, but it didn’t change anything. The truck is all stock electronically, with the exception of power steps and trailer brake. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have the security bypass cable installed?

I was not aware of nor supplied with a security bypass cable. Can you tell me more about this?

If you ordered this from us specifically for an 18 it would have included the bypass.
Can you check the box for a small harness or black box?
There should also be instructions for how ti install it.

Mike, I am confused because I have a 3 foot harness with two little plugs on the end an OB2 connector on the other. The video tutorial shows a black box that takes the place of the existing OB2 connector. I am watching other videos with other bypass module being installed utilizing the small plugs, but they are not Diablo sport. Does this replace the existing OB2 connection?

thats the bypass harness.
You have to connect it to the obdii port then run the cable to the star connector behind the dash as per the instructions in the box.
Once thats connected you can connect the tuner and it will be able to communicate.
