HI THERE
I HAVE THIS DIABLO FOR MY 2007 C6 AND BECUZ I HAD SOME PROBLEM WITH THE GEAR TRANSMETION THEY NEEDED TO RESET THE PCM SO I BACKED UP TO THE STOCK TUNE SO THEY DON'T KNOW THAT I HAVE TUNED IT B4 .AND TODAY THEY CALLED AND ASKED ME IF I TUNED IT B4 WHEN I ASKED WHY THEY TOLD ME BECUZ THE PCM IS LOCKED ! AND NOT LETTING THEM TO RESET THE PCM ! SO HOW COME SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPEND AND IT SAYS IN THE INSTRUCTION BOOK THAT WHEN I BACK UP THE STOCK TUNE THE DEALER WON'T BE ABLE TO KNOW THAT THE CAR WAS TUNED ??? AND NOW I MIGHT HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM IF THEY CANCELED MY WARANTY THEN WHO WILL PAY ME FOR ANY PROBLEM IF I HAVE WITH THE CAR ?

When you say you "backed up" the stock tune, what do you mean? The Predator backs it up on the initial plug-in, meaning it downloads it to it's memory. If you plugged it back in and told it to return to stock, then that is exactly what you did; you returned it to the exact way it was before the initial tune. If you returned it to stock, then there is no way that they can prove that you ever tuned it. Good luck with the situation.

YES JUST LIKE THE WAY IT SAYS TO BACK UP THE STOCK TUNE FROM THE PREDATOR.THE PROBLEM NOW THAT THE PCM IS LOCKED AND THEY R TRING TO ACCESS THE PCM SOME HOW. DON'T KNOW HOW.AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IF THEY COULDN'T ACCESS THEY MIGHT NEED TO REPLACE THE PCM AND I REALLY DON'T LIKE TO CHANGE THE ORIGENAL PARTS OF THE CAR AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL CHECK IF THEY WILL MAKE IT UNDER WARANTY OR NOT.IS THERE ANYWAY TO OPEN THIS PCM NOW FROM THE PREDATOR ???????

well, first of all, the predator does NOT lock the pcm's whatsoever - even when the diablo tune is in it, nothing is locked... you could read that pcm/tune with any other tuner/software/scanner/etc... nothing gets locked...
is he putting the key in the correct position for the TechII to operate?? have the car/ignition in the right mode?? etc etc...
it sounds to me like it's a service tech who doesn't know how to friggin operate a TechII on your vette...

ONCE SOMETHING HAPPEND TO ME NOT SURE IF IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS ISSUE.ONCE I INCREASED THE RPM LIMIT TO GO UNTIL 7000 RPM IT USED TO BE IN STOCK 6500 RED LINE.IN THE BEGINING IT WAS FINE BUT AFTER TIME LIKE A WEEK OR 10 DAYS IT WENT BACK AGAIN TO 6500 !! DONT KNOW WHY??

k, so you have a U7194 predator.. what revision is it on? when you first boot it up, there will be a number at the top of the screen, what is that number? 8r10, 9r01, 9r03??? etc etc

Yeah, there is NO way for a Predator to lock a PCM.
Bottom line, if it is locked somehow, it is not the fault of the Predator.

YES MONTE I HAVE U7194 IM REALLY NOT SURE WHAT VERSION IT USED 2 HAVE BUT THE LAST ONE WAS 8r06 B4 GETTING IT BACK 2 STOCK TUNE.
AND MIKEL I HAVE NO OTHER SOURCE TO LOCK THE PCM BECUZ I HAVE NEVER LET ANYONE TOUCH MY PCM AND THE ONLY THING WAS ACCESSING THE PCM IS THE PREDATOR.

what??? so John, the car/service dealer WAS able to connect to his pcm now??? or are you saying it got locked BECAUSE the dealer accessed it with their tools??

i just came back from the dealer and they said that the ECM has been locked on them becuz there was another programing on the ECM so when they wanted to reset it some fault issue became and now they r asking me to pay 500$ to buy new ECM ! and ofcourse the car in not turning on anymore i try it by my self . so i have the old stock tuning on my PC if i export it to the ECM through the predator will that give any chance to turn the car on again and get it back to normal ?

You are supposed to RESTORE the original factory tune to the ECM from the tool before you take it to the dealer. The only back up is the predator backing up the tune to the tool before downloading a new tune or you can also back up your tunes to a PC via serial connection. Backing up the tune DOES NOT mean you restored it to the ECM. Right?

i did RESTORE THE ORIGINAL TUNE and that what happend with me thats y i got supprized when they found out that its tuned.

If it started when you gave it to them, THEY are liable to repair it to the condition you gave it to them in. Tell them they are full of crap. There was NEVER any other program in the PCM. I highly doubt they can prove it. I would haul that thing away from them and find a GOOD mechanic. Vettes aren't cheap you deserve better from GM!
Remember this.....Good mechanics are rare at stealerships and they use a lot of young kids who don't know much or care about your vehicle.
I hope you get it fixed!! I've just had SO many negative experiences with GM avoiding warranty issues on my Avalanche that I have lost ALL faith in their care and abilities to repair things correctly. I gave up on dealers and now use independent mechanics that REALLY want to fix my vehicle right the first time. Of course, I pay for it. But then again, you get what you pay for and stealerships avoid warranty repairs as much as they can get away with it.
