Tuning for DTCs

Post by limaynard »

Hi all, I am just about to buy the Diablosport PCM for my 2015 Wrangler.

One of the reasons is that I am getting intermittent camshaft position sensor (P0394 issues and sometimes others as well as occasional P06DD) which also triggers the traction light and puts the car into limp home mode until the engine is restarted. As the mechanic has replaced half of the engine, oil pump, sensors and wiring we are getting to the point of thinking that it is possibly the PCM.

Anyway, if it isn't, will I at least be able to do logging to try to diagnose the exact conditions?

Also, does anyone know of any way to tune it to stop the limp home mode (I know this is potentially risky but the limp home home at highway speeds is also risky)

Thanks...

Logging may indeed help, but disabling limp mode means disabling the codes that lead to it, and that can be tricky.

Disabling limp mode is tricky but how about raising the rev limit?
My issue is a P0390 / P0394 that no-one can resolve and it comes on with the ESC light which limits revs to 3k

I'd rather fix the root cause (working on it) but as a workaround...

raising the rev limit is generally not an issue.

Thanks Mike, so there would be a way of raising the 'limp mode' rev limit from 3k to something like 3.5k?

How could I get this done remotely (I have 2015 JK with Diablosport PCM and i3)

No, when limp mode cuts in, revs are limited to 3k. I want to make it 3.5k

no, the right answer is to resolve the limp mode.

Thanks, I know that's the right answer and many minds are working on this intermittent issue. In the interim cutting revs to 3k at high speed is less than optimal.
