Wiring 0-5V analog PLX SM-AFR with the T1015

Post by killface »

SM-AFRGen2_user_guide.pdf
Hey, I have an I3 platinum and just bought a PLX Devices SM-AFR wideband sensor and module. I also got the Diablo T1015 analog I/O pigtail in order to log my AFR readings. Has anyone else tried a set up like this? I know the red wire gets pinned in the lower right of the four pin connector. Just not sure about the ground and white wire. I included the instructions in an attachment. Thank You!

its a shared ground, and you only need one of the 2 signal wires.

So it doesn't matter whether I use the white or red wire for signal? just terminate the one unused? And wire the ground to the chassis in the same place as the PLX? Thanks Mikel!

yes, id try to use an isolated ground for each item if possible.

Ok. I think I've got it. Just wanted to clarify that last part. You said to use an isolated ground for each even though they're a shared ground. Are you talking about a traditional isolated ground? As in the way you would wire a power receptical in your home? Thanks.

ground the cable in one place, and the WB controller in another place, etc. Dont share grounds if possible.

Got it all wired like you said, Mike. Everything tests that it's functional. My question is, where can I see if it's communicating with the intune i3? I tried the configure feature but that just asks me to name the channel.Tried datalogging with it plugged in and never saw the afr readings from the wideband. Thoughts?

it wont display inthe i3, it records to the log automatically, so save a log then open it in dataviewer and it will display the analog values.
