Using the i3 to get more A/C at idle .. burning up here.

Post by SpaceCase614 »

I live in Arizona and have a 2014 Durango R/T .. at idle the A/C is barely blowing cold. At highway speeds it blows cold just fine. Considering half my driving is around town where I'm not much off idle we sweat like crazy when it's 110 degrees out. There are setting for idle and fans and a/c but I'm not sure if any of those will help it blow cooler closer to idle. I tried searching for something like this. I had the system checked by the dealer and they say the a/c system is good. I was sure being a dealer they'd say it needed a bunch of work since that's what they do. Our other two cars (2013 Charger and 2013 Mini Cooper) cool just fine when it's 110 out.

the tune should have no affect on this, the settings you see are for the cooling fans, but they should not be affecting A/C performance really.

Check (change) dirty cabin filter. Raise the idle a touch.
