Puck Problems Now!

Post by BigBlackDodge »

OK. Got home today and installed the Power Puck. It makes my truck very sluggish on all 3 settings. It will not "open up" no matter how much pedal I put into it. Makes a very strong Diesel feel more like a little 3 cylinder Perkins. Any thoughts?

Also, the "check engine" light stayed on no matter which setting.

Looks good....possible the unit is defective.
If it does not get better, have the dealer replace it or send it in under warranty.

Thanks

I tried the puck again today and the weird thing about it is that no matter which of the 3 settings I put it on, and no matter how much I put my foot into it, it will not go past 2200rpm. My thoughts at first were that either the filter needs changing or the ecm is smart enough to not let the engine fuel past that point for whatever reason. But the more I think about it, I think it is a bad puck, because it does it in all 3 settings, even in stock. Disconnect the puck and "Bam!" We have lift off again! Man I Love Cummins Power! This thing amazes me in stock form, that's why I am so eager to see what she can do with a little tweaking!

Sounds like the puck is throwing the truck into limp mode. Did you buy the truck new or used? With you having problems with both the puck and the pred, I wonder if you have a program in the ecm allready.

Well ropnjessi, I don't have a way of checking the codes, but I know I've thrown some since the "check engine" light hasn't gone off since I first installed the puck Thursday.

And dclevey, I bought it used. Talked to the previous owner today about all this. He used a SuperChip Tuner and never had any trouble. I asked him if he was sure it reinstalled the factory stock tune and he said he is positive.

Does anyone know a ballpark figure of what the dealer charges to reflash?

Turn the ignition key on and off 3 times without starting the truck, the codes should show up on the odometer.

Thanks a million man! I'll post the codes after I find out. How do I clear them?

Your Predator is suppose to not only read the codes but also clear them also...

Well I know that, but it's on the blitz, so I've got to send it back. What I meant, was how do I clear the codes and turn the engine light off? But I just went and checked, and the light went out after I checked the codes.
Two codes:
p 0237
p 0069
So what do these mean? And where can I find out about future codes?

P0069 MAP/BARO Correlation..... you may need a boost fooler, double check your connections.

P0237 Turbo/Super Charger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low

Try running the truck now, should be good.
