U7140 - 2005 GT - Throttle Delay

Post by LoneSailor »

I'm looking for any information as to how I can remove the throttle delay in any tune on the Predator U7140(preferably the performance 93 octane tune). I have the calid, serial numbers, etc..., if needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Version v.8r38. Thanks.

Push the pedal down to accelerate and there is still a delay. It's not quite as pronounced as the stock tune, but still noticeable, and annoying. I know the converter will allow a slight lag like feel, and honestly that doesn't feel like what's going on. My other car has a mild 3000 stall converter and they both pick up acceleration at about the same time. I could see the logic if Ford put in a 3000-3500 converter in these cars, but that would never happen in the real world.

Maybe I'm expecting too much with wanting the throttle response to be immediate?

Scott, Your 05 with the "fly by wire" probably wont ever have the same feel as your Foxbody with a manual throttle cable. I would imagine there will always be some slight lag. The diablosport should take car of some of the lag, but I doubt it will ever feel as good as a manual throttle cable. Im sure Mikel will have more imput on this topic as well. Later Man, ~Tony~

Yeah, i have seen some tuners get aggresive with throttle response, give a call to Doug at babachips and ask about a custom tune for better throttle response, he should be able to make it get up and go how you'd like.

Thanks
