2012 Grand Cherokee SRT Fan issues

Post by Da80sbaby »

I have a trinity i3 (x00011300 201312174) that I purchased an additional license for my grand Cherokee on 3/15/23. I tried to do a 93 canned tune and modify fan speeds for my 180 stat. the tuner is writing and going through all the normal steps and messages. Then gets to the end and gives me the completed tune message. But My fan settings do not change. I tried it for a few days thinking maybe i did something wrong. spoke with a rep on 3/28/23. He took my info, and I received an email from [email protected] stating that my tuner was targeted for a update. Did the update, tried to install tune again still no luck. Low fan still comes on at 210, I have a video of me bleeding the coolant and radiator cap off and vehicle in part, and low fans come on at 210. If I cut heat on. Fans to come on immediately. I have verified that it is not the HIGH fan coming on at 210. Can you please help. This is very frustrating. I tried it again this morning went to a new tune and adjusted fan setting to low MPH LS fan to 184 Low MPH ms fan 194 low MPH hs 204 and still low speed comes on at 210 and i have a/c on/off fans set to these settings as well ive included the last tune the diablo has for a tune. Even the date does not match. Originally the it was saying last tune written 3/16/23 then after the update that powerteq sent the last tune date changed to 3/29/23. and as of this tune i attached it says the same. for some reason i cannot attach last tune. i possibly have to email it

if you are testing this at idle in park, its not going to work.
the fan controls only affect the vehicle when at speed, above 5 MPH as I recall. At rest, there is further logic controlling the fans.

I always thought the low MPH value was below 8mph and above 8mph. If this is true what programs fan to come on at 210 in park?

Fan adjustments are used to command the fans to come on sooner for increased cooling or for use with a cooler aftermarket thermostat. In many of our provided tunes, we have already optimized the cooling fan settings for use with the stock thermostat.

Cooling Fans AC Off (DCX)

High MPH HS Fan On

High MPH High Speed Fan On when ac is off and above 8mph

High MPH MS Fan On

High MPH Medium Speed Fan On when ac is off and above 8mph

High MPH LS Fan On

High MPH Low Speed Fan On when ac is off and above 8mph

Low MPH HS Fan On

Low MPH High Speed Fan On when ac is off and below 8mph

Low MPH MS Fan On

Low MPH Medium Speed Fan On when ac is off and below 8mph

Low MPH LS Fan On

Low MPH Low Speed Fan On when ac is off and below 8mph

MS Fan On

Medium Speed Fan On when ac is on

Low speed should be more like 1-8 MPH.
No speed is not something that is mapped for control in the PCM and is controlled by some other logic.
