Possible Tune Issue

Post by jawindustries »

I’m building a Factory Five Mk4 Roadster. Used a 1996 Mustang GT with 4.6L 2V as the donor motor.

Had EFI wiring harness dieted and then am using Ron Francis chassis harness. PCM has been installed with a tune from a tuner with Diablosport i3. PATS has been eliminated as well as EVAP system.

Upon initial turn of the key from off to run, the CCRM clicks and actuated the fuel pump relay, fuel pump primes system. Turn key to start and engine fires up but then fuel pump never activated again to keep the engine running and it eventually runs out of fuel and dies.

I have wired in a switch to manually engage the fuel pump and the engine will then stay running. Not sure why or how to get the PCM to realize the engine is running and it needs to turn the fuel pump back on. Could this be the tune that was written?

If I install the stock tune, the engine won’t even start. Mostly because it’s probably looking for PATS.

Here is a link to a video showing the problem
