can i adjust WOT fuel and WOT spark w/o dyno or wideband?

is it possibe to adjust the WOT fuel and spark settings without the use of a dyno or a wideband o2 analyzer? i have an airaid CAI , jet chip 180 tstat and currently installed the 93 oct cai tune with some mods but want to use it to its full potential. could you experts shed some light on this subject. if i need to ill have to travel a ways to find a dyno tester. Thanx !!

Use the Predators Log function to measure ST Knock Retard. Most likely your car is detonating and you'll need to add fuel or reduce spark.

Also, if you don't know what you're doing, don't screw with it. The Predator isn't failsafe, and if you mess with stuff in the wrong way you can destroy your motor.

i know how to measure st knock retard. but how do i know whether to add fuel or reduce spark.. the diablo has the wot fuel settings of 1-3.8k,4-4.8k,and 5-7k.. how do i know which one to use and adjust?

Just to clarify, were talking about a 5.7L R/T right, with the U7135?

Try adding fuel in the range where its detonating. You may need to add alot. Some guys are adding as much as 16%. You could also try retarding the timing a degree or two. My SRT8 has the timing retarded and fuel added, and it still knocks. I'm beginning to wonder whether its even real knock or false, since so many Hemis seem to have the problem.

i did a st knock retard log (not at wot because of traffic) but it registered at 0 deg.. is this optimal? yes i have the 5.7l rt.
how do i find the range of detonation using the predator? so far your info has been helpful..thanx a bunch!

Gotta do it at WOT. At part throttle nothing will show up.

The range can be seen in the DataViewer. When you hook up to your PC and download the log onto it, you can see it all in the DataViewer.

another thing.. i saw a company online called Bamachips stating they can write a single cmr for $75, all i have to do is give specific information about my car, mods, etc (without a dyno) and they send me a file to download onto the predator.. ever hear of them, and is their quality good?

If I was gonna do a email tune it would be through RDP. Steve is the best at tuning the Hemi. Still though, an Email tune will never be as good as a dyno tune.

Thats up to you. I always read, at minimum, RPM, MPH, ST Knock Retard and Actual spark. Usually ECT, Throttle position, O2s and a few others.
