Timing vs Fuel?

Post by MagnumSRT8 »

With these cars, what makes more power? I have a 06 magnum srt8 with mild mods, air hammer, exhaust and a jet thermostat running the 93CAI tune with 94 octane . I started logging at the track and was getting up to 6 KR. So i started adding fuel, i've added 6% low end, and 16% mid and high. The car is quicker with the added fuel, I ran a 12.72@110mph. I just checked my log and my timing is only peaking at about 26 degs in third. Should I be aiming for more timing and less fuel or lean it back out a bit and pull timing? My KR is almost gone now, i get 1.0 between 4000rpms-5000rpms only in first gear.

Honestly, it sounds like you've got it very close for now.
If you want to go any further, I'd get it to a dyno to verify A/F and you could try timing changes to see if it picks up anything.

Thanks

Im planning on getting a CMR tune in the future, i was basically just tuning to get rid of KR and its getting faster with the added fuel. I might have to play around a bit and try less fuel and pull some timing and see how it runs.

12.72@110 is great! I don't know that you can do any better than that without some more mods.

If you are seeing 26* of timing then you are doing pretty damn good!!! Leave it alone.

By the way, what was the air temp during the runs??

Hi guys, I'm new to the boards and been playing with my predator. I noticed the knock retard in my car too using the perf93 CAI tune. When running the data logger which parameter will show me the actual timing. i been watching ST KNK, LT KNK, RPM, BASE SPARK, ACTUAL SPARK CYL1, INTAKE AIR TEMP. AMBIENT TEMP, AND IN MAN AIR TEMP... Should i be looking at something else as well... TIA
