Must of overlooked it. We have not had any complaints about the current tunes in the unit so if it aint broke, dont fix it applies to that.
For EGR block, we will probably not offer any emissions related deletes anymore due to stricter epa enforcements.

Yes but what about improvements to the diagnostics? Like balance rates etc.johan wrote:Must of overlooked it. We have not had any complaints about the current tunes in the unit so if it aint broke, dont fix it applies to that.

I really hate to hear that DS is not considering the EGR Delete. I really hate to cut wires and add the finger stick or go to another tuner that allows EGR Delete.

Installing the Fingerstick isn't that difficult, I've had mine in and out twice now for the egr motor replacement. If you don't want to install your only other option is the PPE tuner as far as I know. Which is the route I should have taken since it looks like these guys aren't going to upgrade ours anymore.bcoldiron wrote:I really hate to hear that DS is not considering the EGR Delete. Trotorx2... Just curious about the egr motor replacements.. whats going on with that?? Did you get a different code other than the P0401 code??

I had the P0401 and P0403 and another but can't remember. The dealer reprogrammed the ecm first and ordered a motor. Even though the codes didn't comeback they changed the motoe anyway. I pulled the stick both times just to be safe.bcoldiron wrote:Trotorx2... Just curious about the egr motor replacements.. whats going on with that?? If you have an LBZ you may have the problem sooner or later. It is a common problem. My dealer is very easy to work with.

Trotorx2.....Well I hate to show my stupidy...but ... what I'm confused about... is ...I thought the fingerstick would eliminate the P0401 and P0403 codes by telling the ecm that everything was working OK. I am asking these questions because, I am down to having to install the fingerstick to eliminate the code that I am getting. I have installed the intake and exhaust systems and everytime I hook to the fifthwheel... I get these codes. So now I am confused because I thought the fingerstick and blocker plate would eliminate these codes.

The Fingerstick blocks codes that appear from installing aftermarket intakes and from removing the CAT. Not all trucks throw these codes though. I don't remember what the egr codes were but the fingerstick won't block those.
Go look at The Diesel Place forum you will find more info than you will want to read.

Guys, the EPA is cracking down on this stuff, hard.
Diesel is the first market they are going to hit.
We are voluntarily complying with new regulations, in an effort to avoid having massive fines (of up to $10,000 per tool sold) for having OBDII or emissions deletes in the programmers.
If our competitors choose to continue to offer these things, then eventually they will pay, but we're not looking to be put out of business by the Government, if you know what I mean.
Thanks
