I have the FLX7193 Flex Fuel Tuner and am looking for any tips or lessons learned on the Flex Fuel Conversion. 2003 Chev Silverado 1500HD 6.0L

Do I need to wait until I have an empty tank to convert?

I uploaded the tune and took the truck for a drive with 1/2 tank of 10% ethanol gasoline. At Idle the truck was not running smooth and was wanting to stall. I thought that you could run any combination of gas/ethanol blend. The exhaust was smelling like it was running rich. I haven't added E85 to the tank, yet.

Am I missing anything?

Any tips/suggestions?

I just used the FLX7193 Flex Fuel Tuner on my 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L. The truck had 1/8 of a tank of 10% ethanol for the initial test drive, I did not observe any running problems. I drove truck approx. 3.5 miles with a stop for shopping before adding 10 gallons of E85, truck still runs great.

I just installed my FLEX7193 Thursday. The first thing I noticed was a slight increase in power with regular 87 octane gas, it had about 5/8 tank. I had to make a round trip of about 250 miles, so I was able to fill up on the wat home (80 miles from the house) with E85.
I noticed absolutly NO problems with the change in fuel. I did notice that the truck seemed to run like it did BEFORE the E85 tune was installed on reg. gas, slightly LESS power than on gas with the tune.
This is my first tank of E85 and I only have 80 miles on it, so I have no info on mileage as yet.
So far I have been VERY pleased with my tuner.

My only question is, if it's this easy, why does GM and the others not make ALL their vehicles flex fuel compatible ?

Well, it really isn't simple/easy and undoubtedly involves compromises. Add to that other mfg's varying reactions and opinions about it.
