U7194 Vehicle Not Supported - 2007 Silvera NBS 5.3L

Just purchased a new Predator. Build date 04-05-07 and it will NOT program my new truck. Unit came with Version V8r05. Even reflashed unit to make sure everything was OK... Flash date is now 03/22/07 - 1206 Attempted to read factory program, but it aborts at 100% with a Flash error of 0x40000. Sent the flash backup file via Email to Johan anyways.

Truck is a 2007 NBS with a 5.3L, engine code "M". Which is just a basic 5.3L, but aluminum block I believe. Engine CAL ID is: 12605899

Sent this same Email to Johan, but have not head back yet, so thought I'd post in here, as I'd really like to use my $400 toy. The Email also contains my VIN#.

Probably doesn't work because the correct tool for a 2007 5.3L Silverado is the U7192, not a 7194.

And I don't think the new body styles are supported at all, just the classic...

2007 Truck or SUV: 8th digit of the VIN must be: B, N, U, T, V or Z --- and yours is M, which tells me no, it's not supported at all, even with the 7192.

I'm sorry, but you are incorrect.

U7194 is for the NBS vehicles. U7192 is for the CLASSIC.

I both Emailed and called Diablosport and was told the U7194 would work on my truck. They don't update their website as much as we think. If you follow the threads on this forum, you will see plenty of other TRUCK owners using the same programmer.

Maybe your ECM needs to be updated/flashed by your dealer to have the latest GM calibrations??

Battery fully charged?? got fuses pulled that should be?? no drain on the electrical system going on (radio, fan, onstar, etc)??

Battery fully charged may seem like a dumb question, but these new batteries GM has been installing have problems. Mine went totally dead after about 5 months of owning the car brand new... bad cells. Several other people I know (with different vehicles) have had the same issue.

I don't have a truck (obviously), just tryin' to throw things out there that I've seen other people have problems with before...

The PCM was re-flashed three weeks ago to try and help my mileage and fix some battery drain service bulletin. Pulled fuse #47 / ONSTAR. Verified ONSTAR wouldn't work, then proceeded with the attempted flash. Vehicle was just parked in the driveway 10 minutes before attempting flash, so the battery should have been at 100%. Radio and climate control were OFF. About the only thing the unit did was piss off my 4WD and give me a SERVICE 4WD SOON light when I backed up the OEM flash onto the unit.. Checked for codes and there were none.

Several weeks ago I thought I saw a post where Johan had some guy email him his backup from his truck, and he was then able to make a PCM flash for him that way. I believe that was on a NBS Chevy too.

ALSO, since my PCM may have a flash NEWER than Diablosport has, maybe it won't work.... Dunno. Never ran into issues like this with my LT1 edit or Tunercat, so making sure the OEM flash is recent really make no sense to me at all since you'd be removing the OEM flash code, and installing the Predator flash code.

Actually Spartus, the issue here is the 5.3 'M' motor, as it actually uses its own PCM which is different than any of the other 07 model year PCMs, thus it is unsupported in the Predator.

I also have a 2007 with the aluminum block 5.3 and "M" vin. Is there going to be a programmer available for our trucks?

The STANDARD engine for the Crew cabs is the Aluminum LH6 engine. It's been around since 2 0 0 5 model year. Nothing new and fancy to program for. I contacted SuperChips, and there 2815 DOES SUPPORT the LH6 "M" code engine on the NEW BODY STYLE trucks. It looks like Diablosport is going to miss out on thousands of sales.. I called and talked with Mike here at Diablosport last night and they have no / zero / nada plans on supporting the LH6.

They should add in their product description that the CREW CAB trucks are being left out, along with anyone else who selects the aluminum block.

If the vehicle has the 'M' motor, it is not supported.

Those are the vin engine designation #'s for the 07 Classics. NBS 07 vin engine designation #'s = M, C, 3, 0, J, K, Y or 8
