tuner not working...

well i ordered the tuner U7194 for my 08 silverado 5.3 and i dont think it works...at all. installing the tunes goes fine, when its done it says the tune has been installed turn key off then on again. but all the parameters i change arnt effected at all. i tried changing the dod and idle rpms and nothing happened, also i had it on the 93 tune and my buddy put 89 in my truck (doh!) but i got no pinging at all, which makes me think the tune was never unploaded at all. i contacted the seller already but wanted to check here and see if maybe its something i could fix first.....thanks for anyones help.

There was a revision which had issues with the parameters not working, what revision do you have on that unit?

What do you mean by revision? when i look under the last tune i installed it says exactly what i tried to install...it just never actually goes through. and i notice no difference between 89 and 93 tune and can run the 93 tune with 89 gas WOT with no problems. does it make a difference that its a flexfuel truck? i asked that when i bought the tuner and they the seller said it didnt....

when you first plug in the predator to either the OBD port or the power adapter... it boots up to the main menu...

there is a number at the top of the screen... something like 8r10, 9r01, 9r03, etc etc... that is the revision number...

what is that number??

my gut is that it's 8r10....

If so, parameter adjustments don't take with 8r10.

It's my understanding that this is corrected with 9r03. 9r03 is available via the product support pages on this stie....

aaah, yup.. 9r01 was a problem child.. that's why they came out with 9r03...

update to the 9r03 and let us know how it goes...

remember - restore your original backup to your truck FIRST - BEFORE you update the predator... or you could lose your original backup...

im having SO much trouble with this. i intalled the driver for the cable but the downloader still cant locate the predator, ive tried everything...electronics make me so angry haha

make sure you have the latest version.

cycle thru the com ports... for some queer reason, my 'pooter detects the predator on com4 all the time, which seems unintuitive to me.... but, hey, it eventually worked.

Stick with it, it'll work. I had a few hiccoughs there as well.

Let us know what's haspening and we'll do everything we can to help.

make sure the predator and the dsdownloader are both set to a baud rate of 115200
