Unable to tune on 2nd license - 2014 5.7 R/T Chal

Post by ropammopar »

Hello,

So I have a T2 paired to my 06 Jeep SRT8 (works great, no issues for the 2 years i've had it), I then bought a second license on the same T2 - to use on a recently purchased 2014 R/T Challenger.

When I tried to throw on the Diablo Tune or 91 tune, the T2 will not get past the "Failed to read the vehicle's factory data. Press continue to reset the device." It will either freeze or just restart...

I'm somewhat familiar with the diablosport troubleshooting process, but this has me stumped.

I've reset the tool, re updated all the way, disconnected battery, know to take the push start button out, checked for any weird aftermarket electronics and wasn't able to find anything, searched and read many forum topics that i could find similar to my issue, etc etc,

Now - couple of things that were interesting to note:

Can see my second license went through and the T2 was able to add the vin, so thinking it should work.
If I try to install the Diablo tune with the car fully running (as oppose to only with the key on), it goes a little further into the process before it gives me that error- so it's as if it really wants to tune the car. Lol

vin for ref:

Anything else missing?

Thanks

this is a 13/14 issue, and I have to assume the 14 had been previously tuned by some other means besides DiabloSport.
Something chnaged the bootloader in the pcm, and never put it back, and the T2 is not sure what to do with the non-stock bootloader.
Only solution we can offer is to pull the pcm, send it here, and we'll replace the original bootloader to allow the t2 to work.

Ahh that's understandable,

Is it just a reupload of a stock bootloader to the pcm through certain software?
Wondering if my friend can do it who deals with reprogramming ecu's...
i also have a software called AppCar DiagFCA and lets me reprogram keys and write to new ecu, etc, maybe can do it there?

Thank you again

there is no dealer level tool that allows bootloader changes unfortunately. Unlikely you'll find someone who can A. do it, and B, has the stock bootloader to reload ;)

Ok ok. Is it possible to download the stock bootloader from somewhere or you guys?

What software is being used to upload the stock bootloader? CMR software or?

I understand if it's classified information, was just hoping I wouldnt have to send out my pcm, but it looks like I might have to...

How much do you guys charge to do that?

Thanks

We use internal tools to do it. Its really not something many people outside of a company that tunes these can do.
No charge, just give us a call to set it up, 561-908-0040

If you plan to reload a stock loader into PCM, it is important to have the right software and experience. Given that your friend is doing ECU reprogramming, he may be able to handle this task, especially if he has experience with similar systems.

As for the AppCar DiagFCA software, it may be able to perform reprogramming tasks, including writing to a new ECU. However, I would recommend calling in a professional to make sure everything is done correctly and avoid potential problems.

For more specialized assistance, consider consulting with a professional development company such as https://www.cogniteq.com/flutter-app-development. They have expertise in various areas of software development and programming, which can be very helpful for your needs. I work in a hundred and I needed software for the Woodle Auto program because the firmware crashed and I didn’t know how to fix it. They helped me and now everything works fine.
