07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
Need help. U7135 with 9r04 I am using Shell Vpower 91 octane (thats the highest octane I can get).
I have an 07 charger SRT8 with K&N CAI, 180 thermo & BT catch can.
I have been using the 91 octane CAI performance tune and since installing it I can no longer spin the tires from a stop when I floor it (autostick in 1, ESP off, TCM adaptives reset, tranny in mode 3).
I have done a lot of data logging and have eliminated all ST & LT knock by adding fuel 10% 12% 12% in the 3 ranges. Also, the throttle shows it going to 127.1%.
I tried just the 91 octane tune and had a lot of ST & LT knock. I had also tried fuel at 5% 5% 5% with retard set to 0 -2 -2, still no ST or LT and still cant spin the tires. My 0-60 varies between 5.34 & 5.78 with these tunes.
Were I live the elevation is 2900'
The car seems to start slow then picks up real quick after I floor it from a stop.
Any of you guys out there with a similar setup, let me know what your tunes are. I included one of my logs if your interested.

RE: 07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
mine is the same way with the newer crom. I miss the earlier versions.
RE: 07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
I have almost the same setup on my 07 300 SRT8, running on a Johan tweaked 9R04, except an aFe Stage 2 intake running on Exxon or Mobil 93. She runs consistant 4.60-4.80 second 0-60s. When he first fixed my tune the throttle response was awesome. Unfortunetly, that was short lived. The computer learned the new parameters and its back to being a slug off the line unless you floor it.

I'm asking the same thing about my 07 R/T. I only have the new revision and waiting to install the 93 CAI tune. Step on the gas sluggish then wham fast acceleration.
RE: 07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
ALot of it is due to the tranny instantly shifting to second gear unless you hit a certain throttle position. Then when you hit it after getting off the line it will kick down and launch. The early versions were nasty with the SRT8s. The tranny wouldn't kick down until like 85-90% throttle and then when it did, the tires would break loose.

Well I tried doing the computer reset (pull fuse #11 etc) and that seemed to help.
The car seems more responsive when I stomp on it from a stop.
I thought that when you upload/modify a diablo tune it resets the computer.
If so DIABLO, why does the pulling fuse 11 computer reset make a difference ??

RE: 07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
Because pulling fuse 11 resets the adaptives not the computer.
RE: 07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
try a cmr tune ........i just got my tune yesterday an the tuner addressed all the issues with tranny and everything else i disliked and its a huge difference compared to my old can 16a tune bigtime .

So, if i install a new or modified tune I will have to reset the adaptives every time?
This is contrary to what I was told by diablo. Why isnt this in the Diablo documentation ?

RE: 07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
You don't have to reset anything. Reseting them just makes the computer forget what it knows about how you drive. If you drive alot in traffic, it adapts to that, slowing throttle response, and then when you wanna hammer it, it gets a little confused and gives response as if its still in traffic.
RE: 07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
So other than resetting the adaptives, how do I get it to forget that I dont want a slow throttle response anymore.
RE: 07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
Beat on it. Then it'll learn new adaptives
RE: 07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
I thought you could reset the adaptives from the Diablo.
RE: 07 Charger SRT8 lazy off the line
so regardles the car will adapt ? Always??
