Do I need to re-tune frequently or at all?

Post by Mark2042 »

Hey guys I apologize if there's a thread on this already, I couldn't find one after searching.

Question:

I have a 2019 Dodge Challenger RT stars and stripes edition, I purchased the PCM swap and tuner module thing a couple of years ago. It is the intune i3 model.

Everything worked great when I installed the new PCM and canned tune. As far as I know everything is still working great but the question I have is should I update the tuner module and retune the car every so often? When I initially installed the tune I noticed a massive difference especially with the transmission tune. It could just be me since I've been driving it around for years but I feel like it isn't as peppy as it was when I initially installed The 91 octane and transmission tune.

With a tune get programmed out of the PCM or is everything fine? I just updated the tuner and I'm going to redo everything in the morning but I figured I would ask for future reference. I do appreciate your time and help, Hope everybody enjoys the upcoming Labor day weekend 🫡🇺🇸

No need to retune unless you've hanged something that requires a change in the tune ;)

Thank you for letting me know, I must just have gotten used to the improvements since I've been driving around so long on them. Didn't notice anything after I retuned the vehicle..

I do have another question not sure if this is the right place to ask or the right etiquette not new to all these forums and whatnot.

Just purchase the 64 intake swap kit from MMX, they say it does not need a June but it's a pretty big part of the motor being changed I figured it could benefit from a little tweaking?

Question is, do you guys make a pre-can tuned for this intake if not what would you suggest setting fuel and air mixtures at?

And thank you again for your time dude I would assume you're extremely busy and your answers are appreciated 🫡🇺🇸

we dont, best bet would be to log it before and after and see what changed and if the trims are different, it may want a little fuel added or need a custom tune.
