Calibration update issue 2009 challenger srt8 6.1L Manual

Post by Millar Time »

Good day.

Trying to sell my unit to my buddy for his 09 6.1l Challenger SRT manual. I has it on my 2010 6.1L charger srt8 auto. It keeps asking for a calibration update when I plug it into ky buddies after unmarrying from my car. I updated via the PC app and tried again. Same issue.

I found a thread reply to try on the forum...but when I try it I require a password?

"go to settings/advanced/clear all updates to get rid of the current requests, then start over.

there are 2 requests currently, one from a different vehicle, which is likely confusing the situation."

Do you need the key code to give me a password to unlock? Owned this since 2011 and never had this issue before.

Cheers,

Yes, when I plug into his 09 6.1l , it asked for PCM calibration update. But when plug into my 2010 6.1L I can tune and write no problem like normal. There is no files to restore on my 2010 that I found.

Please see attached.

its asking for an update for the 09.
what happens when you run the update agent software and let it connect to the device on the PC? (cancel the auto run stuff)

Hey Mike,

So plugging it in, it says it has updates again. I thought I did the update just before I retried a 2nd time on the 09 but it must've not stuck or finished etc.

Now when I run the update and it goes to transferring to the intune, my intune has a pop up that states " The intune cannot be updated until it is registered"?

I thought it was registered. How do I go about registering it so I may update it?

So I dragged and dropped the file on to the drive. It seem to have started when I opened updater agent then i got this screen on the intune

"The current firmware revision (1r03i) cannot be replaced by package within Group_update1_0" I click continue and then get pop up

"failed to install group_update1.itfg"

Where do I go from here?

Thanks,

Hey Mike,

That is disappointing to hear as the Intune hasn't been used much over the years of me owning it as I just loaded it and left the tune. Why may you say that? is there anything that may be done to get this working, can it be reset and reloaded? Just weird how it works fine on my 2010 6.1L but not on the 2009 6.1l. Appreciate any further insight you may have.

its probably 10 years old and was never updated at the time, making it way out of date. You can try loading this to it then try the update again.

Thanks Mike, that did the trick and it's now up to date! It took me a cpl tries but it finally took it. Now just to get to try it on the 09. Cheers.
