Ex platinum update for ex t2

So I guess I accidentally purchased the Diablo t2 ex but needed the platinum anyways I came across a video of a guy who basically did the same thing he claims he gave Diablo sport a call and told them the mistake he did and that they went and basically sent a conversion file update and was able to install custom tunes anyone else heard of this?

9300 or 9050?

9300 can be converted.
