Custom tuning for cold air intake

Post by TheAirGuy »

I just bought a used tuner and installed the 87 octane tune on my 2005 GMC Sierra z-71. My question is that I have a K&N Cold air intake and flowmaster exhaust, I was wondering if the 87 octane tune can or should be modified for the intake and exhaust? will it make any difference? The truck is bone stock except for these two items. If it will make a difference to tune it for 87 and can use the intake and exhaust who can I get to make me the tune? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ken

yes, you will definitely notice a difference for your truck with a custom tune done for it... 90% of the custom tunes I do for truck guys are 87 tunes...

you'll gain even better/quicker throttle response & acceleration, stronger/harder pull, smoother & quicker power delivery throughout the rpms, etc... and sometimes, maybe even a little better gas mileage - if you can keep your foot out of it! hahaha...
