Reuse of an unlocked ECM?

Post by jnmarshall »

I’m working with a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7l Hemi. I have available an ECM that has already been unlocked with a Diablosport tune that was reflashed back to factory mappings. The unlocked ECM is also from a 2020 JGC with Hemi.
Can this just be R&R or do I need to send it in to repurposed to a new VIN?

Then for tuning can I use any i3 or do I need the platinum version. And does it need to be vehicle specific? I ask because I see you offer a refurbished i3 platinum for Ford, GM and FCA(Stellantis). But was thinking I could help a fellow DS supporter recycle his existing i3 or i3 platinum.

the pcm will need to come here to have the VIN programmed for $100.
Assuming you have a bypass, any i3 should work if it has a Dodge license.

Thank you for that information. One last question…
Noticed the agent update software for Edge and Diablosport is the same application. I have an HT2 programmer for my GMC. Can I just add a Dodge license to it for the Jeep? Or does it specifically require an i3?
Be nice if I could share a single device.

HT2 doesnt offer multi license like that, so it wont work unfortunately. It most likely does not support 2020 GC either.

You could use the i3 on both though, add a GM license to the i3 after you use it on the GC and you could sell the HT2.

Really?!?! And the i3 supports the locksmith and will unlock the ECM/TCM? This is for a 2022 2500 6.6l Duramax. I was told the i3 and Trinity product lines are not supported.
I can return the HT2 as it's still within my return window and not even opened.
