Error occurred while installing Callibration Update

Just installed my Trinity 2 EX in my 2021 Challenger R/T and I'm recieving "An error occured when trying to calibrate" after using the Tune option.

My car is in RUN but the engine is not started.

My PCM was unlocked by Pietz Performance, and I have the bypass installed. After recieving the error, it reads "Failed to restore the vehicle's factory data". Is my car bricked until this is straightened out? I don't want to start it up unless I can be sure. Thanks.

Sorry to necro, I've been talking to the tech support line over the phone for the past week about the issue.

I've been assured twice by Diablo tech support that the PCM only needs to be unlocked and doesn't require any software specific from Diablo. Twice now I've sent in the error data to the engineers over there, once a week ago and again today. The first .drg file they tried didn't change anything, not really confident the next one will either.

I tried asking what's going on, but the folks on the support line don't really seem like they know. I've tried looking for posts with similar issues but somehow it seems like I'm the only person to have this issue and at this point it's getting a little demoralizing. I had plans to use the canned 93 tune until I got my headers in, then use a Hemi Fever tune, but I'm starting to reconsider and look towards HP Tuners if your folks can't help me out here.

No disrespect, I'm sure they're trying and I honestly don't have a clue how the software side of things work so I can't really speak, but it's getting a little ridiculous how much back and forth there's been just to get my PCM calibrated, minus even applying a tune.

I may not be following...at this point have you sent the pcm to us to be unlocked?
If not, I would not expect it to work.

No, I had it unlocked by another tuning shop. I asked DiabloSport customer support on the phone and they said it didn't matter who unlocked it, only that it was unlocked, so I'm not certain that's the issue — unless something needs to be uploaded to the PCM by Diablo when it's being unlocked?

if we didnt unlock it, there's a chance it wont work with our devices. You are gonna need to arrange for us to unlock it for our device to work with it.

I appreciate the responses, but would you be able to explain why that would be? I don't entirely doubt what you're saying, I'm just looking to get a better understanding.

From what I understand, the PCM is locked mechanically, so it's either locked or unlocked. Is there something specific Diablo does to allow the PCM to work with Diablo products? If possible I'm trying to avoid paying for a second (possibly redundant) unlocking just for the problem to continue.

there are internal bootloader files that need to be replaced. we do it one way, they do it another. their hardware doesn't work with our 18+ PCM unlocks either.
