2005 F150 issue with no idle change after tune

Post by mikewells1974 »

2005 F150 5.4L , 4x4 , bone stock

Purchased New i3 Platinum #8145 - Updated Ignition Software (on Windows) - SN: 202799123

No changes to idle RPMs after installing 87 DiabloTune.

Installed Advanced Tune / Modify Parameters / Set Idle to 650-700 RPMs in Neutral & Drive / Removed Speed Limiter

Tune seems to install correctly & back-up file created/exported. No error statements.

Tried to update again, none available..

Warm Idle remains at +/- 500 RPMs..

New Tuner.

Cleaned MAF & TB , checked & found no vacuum leaks / Idle re-learn process.

Been a headache so far..

Please Help !
Thank you !

can you attach the last tune written file from the tunes folder here so we can take a look at the file?

The last tune attempt was with the aftermarket head unit unplugged , had read where it may cause issues.
(I stated bone stock earlier , head unit & SWC are the only mods , both disconnected).

Would the KAM cause an issue?
Wondering if installing with the door open would be best , so to keep the KAM off during ignition switch cycles.

Thanks again for the help ๐Ÿ˜Ž

the aftermarket radios are not often an issue on Fords, mostly early GM trucks.
KAM wont be an issue, but keeping the door open is always a good idea when flashing.

Hey Mike. Any updates?

Is the issue with the tuner itself? Would a different tuner have the same issue?

I have another i3 Platinum 8145 still sealed in the box. (accidentally two were purchased..)

I started to try the other tuner a couple weeks ago, but did not want to break the seal.

Any info or help would be great.

Thanks.
