verry hard shifts in 2000 with perditor

Post by andrew90 »

hi i have recently bought a preditor for my 2000 f250 7.3l when i installed it at first it would not start then i updated it so it would, truck works great on 80hp setting as far as power i'm not hard on my truck but notice a great difference have also tryed tow mode and it also seemed to work good the probleum i have is the shifts are umbarably hard and with a trailor at higher rpms it seem like it dobble shists. i had it on 80hp and the shifs were just to harsh so i took it out scared it would cause damage i don't need the max hp i can get but i would like it to shift good please hepl can i adjust the shifts?

If the torque converter is locked up while the gear changes occur you will get alot more feeling from the shifts. There are also tables in the processor for the ammount of time to delay relocking the converter after a shift is completed. Depending on how fast the converter is being relocked after a shift may create the feeling of a double shift.

Example. In a manual transmission vehicle you can make the shift more or less abrupt by the ammount of time you let the clutch come out.
