'07 Sierra NBS 5.3

Post by jbatt »

What else would I want to adjust to get better response from my truck?

I have a '07 GMC Sierra NBS 5.3 with an Airaid CAI and TBS. I have the u7194 with the diablo tune installed. I already turned off the DoD and adjusted my ltft's.

I noticed the difference with the tune installed but I'm looking for more!

Have you played with your WOT settings? PE and timing. Until we get TCM adjustments that's it.

No, I havn't touched anything besides my ltfts. I don't have much knowledge in tuning and tweeking, I'm not sure what to adjust. Where would I start?

If you have a laptop, you can use the Dataviewer software to save logs. This is better than using the Predator itself because it has limited memory (short logs) You would need a data cable from Predator to computer. Once a log is saved use the DSLOGREDUX program that Monte06ss and GrumpyAeroGuy created to analyze the log and make suggestions on changes to make.

If you don't have a laptop, you can still monitor your readings (have someone else read them, dangerous for you to read and drive) and follow the sticky topic at the top of the forum about adjusting your fueling. There is also info in there about timing changes.

I have already ran a log through DSLOGREDUX, just the short one that my predator will log, and it said that I didn't need to make any changes. But I wasn't looking for anything but my ltft's when I did this. I'll try to get another log and do it again...I'll look closer at what information the program is telling me. It'll be a few days before I get home to use my laptop for any long logging...gotta pay the bills!

The next time you log, make sure you get a couple 8-10 second WOT bursts in there. Try to get them in both lo and high rpm ranges (drop gears if you have to, to get the rpms higher). When you use Redux to analyze the log, it'll show you recommended PE adjustments, and it'll show you the amount of KR as well. Real helpful tool. As a bonus, you can export just the WOT data and analyze that vs looking at LTFT's along with it.

Good luck

when doing WOT blasts, you should do them in 3 - not D... ;)

Do I only need to get the WOT blasts in to run it through DSLOGREDUX or should I get some logging before and after the WOT? Not sure if ther will be enough memory in my predator to capture everything.

do a normal driving/cruising log first... to check your LTFT's and see if you need to adjust your injector slope...

once your LTFT's are between 0 to -2, then that's all set...

then, do another log with a WOT run in it...

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll check my LTFT's then log the WOT run. I'll post my results when I get done.

Thanks for all the help!
