06 Cobalt ss/sc

Post by 1st6.0GTO »

Mike you guys have got to make Pred for this car. So far HPT has cornered the market on the ss/sc, and from what I have seen on the cobalt forums people want a hand held. I know from having owned 4 other Preds I would prefer it over HPT just for the simple fact of ease of tuning. I have done a few mods to my 06 Balt ss/sc but cant realy go any further without a tune.
If you have one for SRT4 then you have got to have one for the Balt ss/sc.

Hey Mike been a little while, but I guess the " eventually" hasnt happened. Been a year coming soon since I first posted in another thread about coming up with a pred for the Cobalt SS/SC 2.0. Im telling you, you guys would corner the market on the ss/sc. No one else out there has a handheld. But please dont tell me you guys are gonna work on the new 08 Turbo instead.

I love how this has fallen off the map. Comon DS the 2.0 SC Balt needs a handheld tuner.

Bigger markets get higher priority. Trucks and V8s get priority over little riceburners

Really? Hmmm. Thad's funny The SRT4 being a Dodge got tons of attention. And the Cobalt SS/SC being a Chevy need the attention. Do your research Mike, rice burners are Jap cars. Not American made ones. And yes I know the cowboy cadillacs need all the help they can get, since as it stands now most cant touch me, and I still get 30mpg.

The SRT4 shares most of it programming with the LX Hemis. It was a no brainer to release a Predator for them. The Cobalt is a whole new tune. And DS has other projects to finish before they embark in new ones. Tons of us have been waiting for TCM support, not only for GM, but also for Chrysler. Alot of the V6 LX guys can't even use their Predators at all because their Cal IDs aren't supported. These issues need to take priority over a new market. Plus, the G8 GT is probably much higher in line then the Cobalt for a tuner.

I use the term "riceburners" as a general term for little buzzy 4 cylinder econoboxes. Don't matter where they're made. Isn't the Cobalt made in Mexico anyway? Maybe we should call it a beanburner?

No its made in Ohio. Lords-town or something like that. The Ecotec engine platform has been around for years in the Cavalier and the Sunfire. Now the supercharged 2.0 has only been around since 05. Mine actually has a deep throaty sound, with the GM performance exhaust I have on it, but might increase in volume once I put my headers and catless down pipe. BeanBurner, thats a good one

Myself being a truck guy but selling aftermarket for years now, i got to say these cobalts are quick, and still get 25-30mpg since thats the new thing now. See when gm killed the firebird, and cammaro no one had anywere to go for power exept the trucks or a cobalt ss. See the problem was (this is my theroy) F-body guys dont want a big ass truck, hell they been laughin at us truck guys as they blow by us for years, and there damn sure not downsizing into a little cobalt wich there little brother thought was cool.
That being said I work at a dealer here in maryland i got to say i drove a couple of these things and there fast, i wouldnt race one, not without nitrous or heads or something. The cobalt deserves thsi, i think its done more then prove itself, They have good potental to be a fast car without putting a ton of money into them.

Thank you. This little car is great. As you said Fast and Good on Gas. I have a stage 2 set up in it. And that made it a bit better, but it could use more. And the only tuning that can be done is with HPT. And I dont want to invest that much money and have to learn all than you can do and damage with it. SO, again DS the Cobalt SS/SC needs a tuner.

I bought the car a year ago, and up till June my exwife was driving it, But since its in my name she didnt want to make the payments any more. So I gave her the GTO and I took the Balt. It good Great on gas and fun to drive. It out handles the GTO by a long shot, just dosnt have the HP. But if I can get some more mods and get the HP up to about 300 whp I should be doing good to keep up with my GTO friends, Car is only 2600 lbs where as the GTO is 3600 lbs. SO all in all its good. But I need a Tuner.

AMEN TO THAT! I have a 07 SS/SC, and as I said in the other post ( Predator GM GAS ), we are 806 cobalts in my club and we want the diablosport tune, HPT is expensive and I also do not want to put a lot of money just for tuning the car!

So, PLEASE make a tune for the SS/SC!!

I will buy it the second it goes on sale!! I'm not the only one who think's like that!

We know you make good products so, make another one for the Cobalt !!
