The 4 second delay is gone. The engine management is very nearly gone, still some left. The tranny nannies are still there.

So in your experience is it worth it?

What I don't want to do is end up throwing codes and having a hassle. If it truly adds measureable performance then OK but so far I have not seen one post about what was gained by experience.

yeah, it's worth it...

Canuck, you should send me your original backup and the current tune that is in your truck now, I can probably getcha more OOMPH! by makin' ya a custom tune and changing a couple other things... ;)

here's how to copy the current tune outta your truck...

'Monte" I appreciate the reply but you re-inforce the fact that no one still says what they gained!!

Worth it how? I keep reading about power added but if you can't use it so what!!

20-25 hp/tq is what the trucks usually gain...

Yes its worth it. If you are a lead foot off the line, you will see and feel a difference. The butt dyno will tell you that. For me mileage change was insignifcant becuase I've got the lift kit and the bigger tires. Pulling a 24 foot travel trailer is EASY, I can cruise at any speed and keep up with traffic in stop and go.

I guess I'm going to have to call and ask specific questions.

I do understand all the replies but 20 - 25 hp is worthless if the power is cut by the module when you hit the gas.

I don't consider SOP feel measureable. After I put on the Magnaflows I had SOP. After the CAI..SOP but no "measureable" gain in performance because the control module won't let it happen until it decides to do so.

Are you saying I can just install the "canned" Predator program and I will have "measureable" performance gains?

Yes, that's what we have been saying for the past 6 responses. You WILL feel 20-25 HP. You WILL feel the lack of a 4 second delay. You MAY even feel a few extra dollars in your wallet from the better mileage.

What else do you want to know? If you want fly here, I'll give you a run with and with out the tuner installed. We could take it over to the shop and do some dyno runs if you want. That's the best we can describe what happens with a tune installed. Anything more you will have to buy one, install and experience for yourself.

Canuk,

Thank you for the reply. As I stated repeatedly I'm not necessarily looking for more horsepower but, rather, the elimination of the lag off the line. If the 4 se. delay is deleted then that could certainly help.

As for you Monte.....I have read many of your posts and find many well written and informative. It does seem, however that you don't like to answer specific questions. "Yeah, it works" is pretty vague !! There are 4 of us here reading these replies because were are all interested in the topic. All 4 interpreted your reply as inspecific and evasive. We are trying to gather info. to avoid making a purchase that doesn't suit our needs.

Maybe you were trying to keep it simple so we would understand...but you see that isn't necessary since we are all Electrical Engineers.

hey, you asked "So in your experience is it worth it?" so my response was, yeah, it's worth it. there was no other specific question in that post of yours.

we've given ya all the answers man... dunno what else you're lookin for...

Just get it. I had this tuner on my '07 corvette and LOVED it. End. Of. Story.

I've got an '07 Avalanche...a 6 thousand pound sled. The Pred, a CAI, and a dual exhaust gave me dyno-measured 35 HP and 30 lbs/ft torque gains - on the 87 tune. It also jumps off the line, no lag like before.
Specific numbers to my specific truck. Yours may vary. Best mod I made was the Predator.

Kinda figured that's what you were after...some real dyno numbers :D
I understand TM is a huge PITA, but the Predator really does wake the truck up, not to mention your MPG usually goes up as well, which is the icing on the cake...
