U7194 Torque Management feature ETA????
thanks
Yes. instead of "it works".
Have you hade any issues with it? There are so many contradictory statements here that it is real difficult to sort them out.
I have looked at all the brands I can find and this does look like the one that will fit my needs the best.
TM is a pain but I understand some has to be there to "protect" the tranny. I have built may high HP vehicles and have learned to take a lot of manufacture claims with a grain of salt. I'd rather hear from a "satisfied" customer.......
Thanks,
Rick

I haven't had a single issue with mine, BUT...there were issues with the revisions (9r01 & 9r03) that came out after I purchased mine (8r10), and they're still working out the kinks with a new rev.
As pleased as I have been with mine, I'm not sure I'd be the guy to give you any decent feedback because I never faced any of the revision problems. I will say that the guys here, both members and the guys from DS, are very knowledgeable, not to mention the willingness to help
The best advice I can give you is to take the negative posts with a grain of salt. There have been 2 reasons for the negative:
1. The revision caused unforseen issues. Granted, it sucks, but it will be taken care of...eventually
2. Expectations were too high - Yeah, it's $400, but how many things cost you a helluva lot more than that, with no benefit, that you'll gladly shell out the cash for? This thing really works...You can honestly put an extra 20+ HP and torque to the wheel, while upping your MPG.
Go get one, you won't be disappointed

OK
Thank you again...
I'll give it a shot. I wonder if there is a way to insure the software it comes with isn't one they have issues with? I guess the best way is to call them and deal directly.
Have you ever had to reload the stock program for warranty work?
Rick

ESP,
I have an 07 NBS Crew with the Vortec Max 6.0L, CAI and Predator.
To be honest with the base tune that I installed (I only installed the 87 tune as I wanted to run 87 go figure
) I did not FEEL too much. I could tell the Throttle was more responsive and I also felt only a minor get up and go.
I did right away see a change in MPG for the positive.
I cam on here looking for more and I received good help from Mike and Johan and of course LEW/Monte..
I dialed in my LTFTs and I have to say this is where I FELT the difference.
Where I had trouble breaking loose the rears at 30 MPH on a dirt road (my previous non Max 6.0L could do it both with 3.73s)... With the 87 tune and LTFTs dialed in I can easily break em loose now 30 on the same road same conditions
In fact at nearly 50 I can break em on a straight piece of dirt road
I would put a bigger smiley if I had it
Does that mean your 6ft and 60ft will get better honestly do not know. I do know that I am having fun with the new found power. And the MPG is right at 2.1 MPG better with the new found power.

Rick,
I've reloaded the original backup several times since I started, and the key is to read your tune in as an extra tune, and then save it to your PC. Once the truck goes back to stock, so does the Predator. You can import the tune you had as a custom tune, or just reload the canned tune your gonna use, and manually make the adjustments you had previously.
It might sound like a lot of work, but the instructions are in stickies here i nthe forum, and it doesn't take much time at all, providing you have the equipment beforehand.

Thanks guys...I'll order one.
Do you have to have a lap top to dial in the slope or can you do it without?
More powre is always nice but actually all I want is to be able to use what I've got when I step on the gas. The 4 sec. throttle delay is a PITA!!

Re: thanks
No laptop needed, you dial in the LTFTs with the programmer. And the programmer will help alot with the 4 sec delay.espdixie wrote:Thanks guys...I'll order one.

I always use my laptop, but not to log. The Predator gives me enough data. I use the laptop, along with DSLog Redux, to get dialed in. It helped greatly with LTFT's and fueling at WOT. You'll need a serial cable, or serial-to-USB cable (if your laptop doesn't have a serial port), and the software needed is downloadable from the DS site. Just follow the stickies
Last piece of advice...install the tune, then give it 50+ miles of driving before any data logs. The PCM needs time to adjust. When you do log, keep it in 3rd (or turn of DoD/AFM), and try to get the closest to your daily driving habits as possible. Keep it between 1800 and 2500 RPM, set your cruise, and fire away!
Good luck,
Brad

Well I don't have a laptop so I'll just use the Predator to log and just have less data.
I've read the stickies and from what I see if I drive it about 2200 in 3rd without the DOD then I will see some value...not as musc as if I did the laptop thing but enough that I can see the "trend". Then adjust accordingly to get to the correct value....around "0". Make sense?

RE: LT
yeah... as long as you're doing steady driving and you're in the 1800 to 2500 rpm range, you'll be all set.
