ECONOMY TUNE

Post by tiger094 »

Am checking back for status on an economy tune for the u731. I have tried the perf/econo tune on my 06 ctd w/ 35s, but the mileage is a disappoinment. I was avg 16.5 around town with a light foot, Stock is about 17.5. When I initially installed the tow tune, mileage went up to 18.5 - 19 mpg in town. Lately I am noticeing that slipping to 17.5 as well. The improvement in economy is what intrested me in the predator. What mileage is anyone else with a late model 5.9 getting? Any tips on improving mileage? I removed the turbo baffle and noticed much better pick up from a stop.

The 35" tires are surely not helping the mileage.
Are you sure your previous mileage readings were correct if the speedo was off due to the larger tires?

I have the new tune and have calibrated for the new tires. This last in town mileage averaged 16 mpg. When I initially installed the tune I was getting 18.5- 19 mpg. That was about 3 weeks ago, its been declining. The onboard computer says 20 mpg but the actual was 16mpg.

If you just fixed the tire size, any mileage calculations you did prior to that were incorrect.
