U7198 data logging

I have a U7198 for my 2000 silverado and want to data log. Does my handheld have this capability? Can I use a laptop and the handheld and data log?

if you just bought it brand new within the past few weeks, yes - it can save logs...

if you bought it before that, then no you can not save logs...

What revision is on the Predator?

when you first boot up the predator and get to the main menu, there's a number at the top of the screen... will be a 1.xx, or 2.xx or 9r01 revision number... what's that number?

if it is a 1.XX or a 2.XX number and not a 9rXX number, then it will not save logs..

I've had it at least a year, I will check the revision. Can it be upgraded to log? I bought it with the serial cable. Can this and a laptop enable me to log?

OK, it cant log currently.
We are looking into the possibility of offering an upgrade.

Who carries the data logging model? Most sites I checked dont list the new one. Is there an exchange or trade in or upgrade deal?

all authorized dealers with new stock will have the new version that can now log... the new versions have been out for a month or two now...

you want to make sure the revision number is 9r01... if it is, then it's the new version that CAN save logs...

heh, if that's a shot at me, sorry man... but when you ordered your predator back in the middle of April (and received it on April 24th), I didn't know of a newer version being worked on at that time, otherwise I would have told ya to wait...

diablosport themselves does not have an upgrade program in place at this time, but if there's something wrong with the unit (cough, cough), see if you can send it back to the place you bought it from and tell them you need a new one cuz there's something wrong with the one you recieved. or see if you can get a refund and buy it from a place like Marylandspeed.com - I know they have the latest/newest stock.

I HAVE the 9r version number and *I* can't upload logs because the 'tool' won't connect to my computer.

This is absurd.

have a usb cable? did you install the drivers for it? are your com ports setup correctly? did you select the correct baud rate (115,200)?? etc etc etc...

also, RTFM... LOL

...try reading the HELP FILE that comes with the dataviewer, it has a LOT of connection info in there.
